DT Swiss have updated their wheels, look interesting too.

Seriously considering these actually, one of my LBS's is a KTM dealer and KTM bikes have DT Swiss wheels so can get them at a good price with discount - have them on my KTM Scarp Sonic 29er MTB, excellent.

https://www.bikeradar.com/news/dt-swiss ... 1100-1400/

The 180 hubs with rachet exp, sinc ceramic bearings, new aerolite II spokes, disc-specific, new design that they claim is faster than ENVE 5.6 for rotational drag; I like that they go into rotational drag specifically.

Given DT Swiss hubs and spokes are very highly regarded and used by other wheel manufacturers, all that is left is the rim and they have Swiss Side helping them with that.

The shape looks similar to Mavic Cosmic Pro Carbon SL UST Disc...

If it is like the previous wheels, you can get them branded Swissside too https://www.swissside.com/blogs/news/sw ... 25-and-800

I don't quite like that they haven't put out much in technical details, i just see marketing spiel.

Edit: managed to find the details, these are from the drawings not the text(which disagrees):

NEW 50mm, 20mm int, 27mm ext, 674g + 798g = 1472g.
NEW 62mm, 20mm int, 31mm ext, 776g + 900g = 1676g.
NEW 80mm, 20mm int, 33mm ext, 820g + 942g = 1762g.

OLD Rim 48.5mm, 17mm int, 25mm ext, 686g + 825g = 1511g
OLD Rim 62.5mm, 17mm int 27mm ext, 719g + 878g = 1597g
OLD Rim 80mm, 17mm int 28mm ext, 786g + 922g = 1708g

Love my DT erc 1100 wheels. Stiff, light and fast. They are underrated in the top end wheel segment. Designig a wheel as a system like DT, Shimano and Campy make for a better over setup. Enve just makes the rim.

26.5 would be optimized for a 25c tire, which is what you'd probably want to run with for this. What's the problem? They're about 33mm at their widest point.

26.5mm means optimized for a measured 25mm tire, and no 25mm tubeless tire comes in at 25mm WAM.

According to the diagrams, these rims are 26.5mm (or 27mm) at their widest.

No, that 25c tire will come out to ~26mm on that i20 rim (unless it is a Pro One). I'd imagine they optimized it using an off the shelf tire - probably a GP5k as the prior was optimized for a 23c GP4K (SwissSide FAQ) .

I just got the Swiss Side Hadron2 Ultimate 800 Front Wheel, which is identical to the DTSwiss Dicut 1100 DB 80mm (besides the usage of different freehubs, which obviously isn't pertinent in my Front Wheel).
I am still in the process of experimenting with front wheels for my TT-Bike and this one looks and feels promising right away.
Here are some numbers regarding the rim:

According to Swiss Side, these wheels test equally fast with 25c and 23c, and test fastest with a GP5000 (aerodynamically, a Vittoria Corsa Speed should still save more watts). I went for a 23c for now, as I have had several wheels that are "oprimized for 25c/28c" and once you mount one of these, you end up with a tire fatter than the outer rim.

So this is the installed tire on it. Everything went super easy (as expected with DT). I gave it a first ride and they behave very well so far.

Does the DT-swiss campy freehub body work on these new models? On the DT-Swiss website (US version) I never see the Campy model and just notice that all wheels ship with Shimano and an XDR freehub.

Thanks!

Do you find your saddle bottle cage ejects bottles? Had to use a gorilla cage and mod it not to have that problem on UK roads!

Also are you not going to optimise your front end? The new wattshop and D2Z stuff look very interesting

With 550ml Elite bottle it works for me. Heavier or stiffer bottles don't work so well.

I have already received my Wattshop extensions. Probably will put them on in two weeks or so.
From today's perspective, the Aerocoach Titanium ones are probably the most interesting the market has to offer.

It's the wattshop that dominated today's national 10 TTs in the U.K.. I'm curious, why spend so much money on wheels when surely some wind tunnel and aero testing on a velodrome would be far more useful?
