Evo S5 - 558g (no valves)
Evo S6 - 706g (no valves)
For comparison to that other set of wheels we like to talk about :
CRW5060 were 590+720 (no valves, w/ tape)
These Evo wheels are very nice. I mean everything about them is nice. The packaging is excellent, and easily reusable without any cardboard origami. The wheels came in wheel bags. They included another bag with tubes, stems, tools, and a set of spare spokes. The surface finish on them is very close to flawless. The surface finish is a beautiful matte. I like the reflective decals that look good and help me be seen when riding at night. The bearings feel perfect and spin how you hope new wheels will spin. Tires went on easily and seated easily. Deflating the tires does not cause them to immediately pop out of the hooks! I like that no tape is required. Hub sound is nice, audible but not annoying. We'll see how the sound changes as everything settles in over the first few hundred miles.
I have one ride on them so far. They feel good. No immediate concerns.

Let us know have do they compare to the CRW in regards of acceleration / responsivness and stifness.pushpush wrote: ↑Sun Nov 24, 2024 4:57 pmEvo S5 - 558g (no valves)

I'm also curious to know why you're replacing the CRWs with the Evo S, as I was planning to go for the CRWs purely because i was under the impression they are faster, in part due to having a lower spoke count on the front. I would love to know which you think is faster.
I would have actually liked to have gone for the EVO S as the build quality seems really good, whereas the ceramic bearings seem to wear quickly on the CRW. Did you have this issue?
thanks, I emailed them and got the answer (~1k$) - RD270 20H/20H 45/30 - 1192g ? (or maybe I should put 45mm front and 50mm back?) - does this build have any downsides? comparing to FARSPORTS 2025 NEW S SERIES (18H/18H) or other ready wheels ? I guess wheels with more spokes (24) could be more durable ?Agent041 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 22, 2024 7:56 pmMine RD270 are still flawless. And bearings still smooth as new. Bought around April this year and have on them almost 10k km, with around 200.000m of elevation. Weight is around 270g as the name suggest. As far as I know that is much lower than DT240. But do not know the weight of them.
These are for Tarmac SL7, my weight 73kg and I click climbs, FTP ~290W, with 28mm tires (that's why I look for rims with 22-24mm inner width)

Don't know if you're asking about Farsports or Wheelsfar and if there are significant differences between both but for reference my Wheelsfar order took nearly 6 weeks. Which is roughly what I expected and within the estimated timeframes Emma gave me for production and shipping.
I have 40mm that with RD270, with 1.135g. Am now considering another set, 50mm deep. This time probably with DTSwiss hub, as I was told that 24 carbon spokes makes better acceleration and better stifness. They should naturally be also more durable. Additional weight is all in the hubs, and not rotational weight (except for 4 additional spokes in the rear). My bike is glossy, so want glossy wheels, so I preffer Wheelsfar options for me. I was told in another topic, that wider carbon spokes, does not mean also stiffer spokes, as those are thiner as these on Wheelsfar. Honestly, I do not see any downside with Wheelsfar wheels. And that small sticker is removable, if you preffer no logos on wheels. (EVOs stickers are not removable)razorree wrote: ↑Mon Nov 25, 2024 3:27 pmthanks, I emailed them and got the answer (~1k$) - RD270 20H/20H 45/30 - 1192g ? You did miss the 11.11. discounts, but code FAR-OFF-50 is always active on Wheelsfar (on Farsports.com is only FAR-OFF-30).
Have asked Farsports which set to get for best acceleration, and their responce was with DTSwiss hub. Now, I do not know, if hub itself contributes to stifness of the wheels as well. Does it?
The finish is 70% UD Matte Satin.resolutedj wrote:Does anyone know what finish this is?LRB23 wrote: ↑Wed May 29, 2024 1:52 pmFinally got out on the road with my 40mm 24INT/30EXT this weeks. I’ve only managed to clock up around 50ks.
Initial thoughts:
I took the bike for a quick 7k loop to check everything was ok. Instantly experienced the freehub slipping as others have mentioned, when climbing up a steep, short climb (25%). I was concerned this was off to a bad start. On the second ride I rode steady for the first 20ks and then eased in some short burst sprints and finished on the same 25% incline. Thankfully no more slippage issues. Hoping this was just the hub bedding.
The wheels felt very stiff. I couldn’t detect any brake rub or signs of flex. Granted my legs don’t put out much over 1000w on sprints but compared to my Mavic Cosmics, these were night and day different.
In terms of compliance, set up tubeless with 28mm GP5000, I didn’t notice any harshness. I’m fortunate my local roads and very smooth. They didn’t feel as fast as my 65’s, which I was expecting but hopefully these won’t be far off.
I’m already thinking of getting a deeper set. Torn between going for the CRW’s or sticking with the Far Sports.

~1230g (so 40-50g heavier) and ~230$ more expensive, but it's a new wheel, so maybe it has some improvements over old design ?

Rims (and hubs) should be updated and different from Hypers from Wheelsfar. Althought weight is about the same. If I were you, I would go for the ones that you like the most (visually).razorree wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2024 11:36 amI'm also considering FARSPORTS 2025 New S Series https://www.farsports.com/products/fars ... 6014282927 which looks better

Last week I ordered a set of 35 mm deep, glossy finish, 24 mm internal/30 mm external, with RD270 hubs and 3 extra spokes for 920 usd shipped. Emma was a pleasure to deal with. Now let the waiting begin......
