External width is for crosswind stability, but internal? I would expect same internal width front and rear but wider front external width for better aero/crosswind and narrower external width on the rear wheel for lower weight because aero doesn´t matter there.

you can argue wider front for stability will make you aero overall... but at 0 yaw and probably other yaws as well.. if you are steady you will NOT be more aero on a wider wheel like CLX11 or CRs

Wider wheel increase A in Cd.A.
But it might help wheel+tire mimic teardrop/airfoil shape better, thus reducing the Cd part.
Depending on rim profile but wider wheel can reduce Cd. more than it increase A, given a range of tire size.
I still think 28-30mm tire only require 30-35mm rim though. Wider than that would increase A more than it decrease Cd.

I wouldn't deal in such certainties when talking about aero. I agree at 0 yaw a narrower wheel alone will (probably) be more aero than a wider one... but, you have to also think about how the wheel is interacting with the downtube, how the rim is keeping the air away from the spokes, etc, etc. So, I wouldn't like to bet money on which one is faster as a whole.
As always, the only way to be sure is to test it.
so many variables and outside of a wind tunnel blah blah (which one can argue is not real world) I have not tested a CR but have tested a Roval and it was not faster for "me" and in the end thats all that counts.ChinaCycling wrote: ↑Mon Jun 17, 2024 10:59 amI wouldn't deal in such certainties when talking about aero. I can't tell any difference in comfort compared to the Hollowgram R-SL 50 wheelset that I was using previously.UrgentDelay wrote: ↑Fri Jun 14, 2024 12:12 amHow would you rate comfort on these? Any difference vs the previous wheelset?
depending on how you liked you HGs that might be a small victory, as the much deeper and carbon spoked CWs should normally feel stiffer.rdhb wrote: ↑Mon Jun 17, 2024 8:12 pmI can't tell any difference in comfort compared to the Hollowgram R-SL 50 wheelset that I was using previously.UrgentDelay wrote: ↑Fri Jun 14, 2024 12:12 amHow would you rate comfort on these? My 5060s arrived yesterday, and I couldn’t be happier - these beasts enjoy speed!
I also want to shout out to Panda Podium for their excellent support. Initially, I paid for express shipping, but they suggested switching to the regular shipment to avoid extra costs (I’m in Austria). Their customer service was top-notch.
Here’s what I’ve noticed so far:
Acceleration:
These wheels respond instantly to power. Whether I was surging or taking sharp turns that almost stopped me, they went once I pedalled. The feedback to power is simply excellent.
Handling:
The difference is striking in turns. I often felt a bit of flex with my old wheels (MAVICs UST 45), but these new ones are solid and provide excellent feedback.
Speed Maintenance:
Holding speed is another area where these wheels excel. I was able to maintain a consistent pace of around 40 km/h without feeling like I was pushing too hard. They truly shine in maintaining momentum.
Stiffness:
Out-of-the-saddle surges are smooth and free of any brake pad rubbing or signs of flexing. This stiffness translates to more efficient power transfer and a more responsive ride overall.
Initial Impressions:
So far, I’ve enjoyed turning with these wheels, though I still need to test them on a proper climb and downhill to get a complete picture. However, my initial impressions are overwhelmingly positive.
Overall, these wheels have significantly enhanced my riding experience. So far, so good!

So, I've had several episodes of the death wobble with this wheelset (I don't think ENVEs were quite as frequent). Any advice on what could cause this? I know this can be weight specific as well, I'm always around 85-90kg. With my equipment, I probably come near the weigh limit. But could this have anything to do with the wheelset hub bearings or anything with the wheelset itself? I might check with my LBS about the headset as well, but I'm just trying to eliminate factors here to have more confidence with downhill speed.ChinaCycling wrote: ↑Mon Jun 17, 2024 10:59 am@ChinaCycling

there could be tens of possible reasons, could be a weight/balance thing, could be an unfortunate combo of tyre and rim aerodynamics, could be a geometry thing. At the end of the day, it's a case specific to you and they only way you'll figure it out is by changing things and comparing results
