For anyone who's interested...

Update:
7210g/15.89lbs
(w/pedals of course)

Wow. I made it. I'm done. For now. For a while. But, I made it.
I was blindly right to believe that the saddle would tie the bike together.
Like I said before, once I did one thing to this bike, something else would
jump out at me. It became a never-ending cycle (no pun intended).

Maybe that's why The Riddler's Question Mark kept calling out to me as a theme.
I didn't know why I couldn't be happy with the bike, why I had to keep doing
something to it or why I felt it needed more. Now that I see it in person as
I'd see it in my head, I understand. I didn't know what exactly it was that I
was looking for or trying to achieve with this build. It was literally an Enigma.

Today, I figured it out. Balance. That is what I was after. Not murdered-out after all. But, balanced.

For the first time ever I'm looking at it and don't see where I can improve it.
I mean really, I'm content. The only thing that'll take it to the next level would be a
set of 58mm carbon clinchers for effect, but right now, the Ksyriums are looking so hot.

Next, a nice ride to dial it in here and there, a nice detailing session and pictures.
This ain't no "too pretty to ride" bike, but it's a real world, pound the pavement rig.

Damn I have a smile on my face right now.

Budget:
I paid $815. for the 2009 Cannondale CAAD9-7 and got $215. for the OEM parts I sold off
(still have OEM fork/wheelset/tires/fr der/seat post/brakeset) which brings my original price
down to $600. [easily far less than just buying the frameset alone as I had once considered].

I put about $3,400. of upgrades into it bringing my total to $4,000.
(If I sell-off my leftover OEM bits, I could bring that down to $3,600.)

I read that thread.. funny how Raiju and a few others thought you can just get the BSA30 adapter so BB30 crankset would fit on standard threaed BB. That would be nice but no dice. If that were the case, you could have used Zipp's BB for Vumaquads and used a BB30 crankset as it also has a 30mm spindle.

From what I gather so far the Rotor 3D is a solid crankset. I've only read input from a handfull of acutally owners. Looking for feedback from riders who ran them and not just opinions. It's not super light or fancy carbon but solid. It's 5 arm, compatible with any Shimano BB, and good Q factor. At $360 i'm on the fence, Sram Red or Rotor 3D?

When I buy an EVO, I'll be slapping a Hollowgram on it.
I'll probably end up taking the Red Cranks off of it and
with an adapter, install them on the CAAD if they are
any better than the Ultegra SL set.

Right behind ya.. to my surprise the FSA OS150 and Sella Gel Flow SLR is heavier than I expected. The FSA stem was 183grams and the Gel Flow is 223 grams. Even thought the 3t Arx stem and saddle are even heavier than I recall.. the parts I had on there was heavier than I thought as well. I swapped that out for 3T Arx stem and SLR XP saddle.. 134 grams and 150 grams respectively. Total loss came out 122 grams.. free! since I own them already.. ;) With that, down to 15.5lbs. I could easily get to sub 15 with set of Vumaquads or some other lightweight crank, but since I need to stick with something durable.. I'll have to do it elsewhere.. I reach my 15.5 goal a bit too easy.. now shooting for 15.

I found another 16g tonight. I put the Ti bolts that came with the Edge Stem on again and put
the black steel bolts back on the Bontrager. They end up playing off of the head badge nicely.

The Ti bolts were 2g and the steel bolts with washers were 4g.
I found another 4g by removing the valve nuts on the wheels.
Took her down to 7200g/15.87lbs.

I'm really happy with that. I might settle for that. And, I got to keep my Ksyriums & Conti GP4Ks. Yay!
I've whittled down my future WWing to Ti Bolts and a front derailleur clamp & possibly jockey wheels.
At most, I could possibly squeeze another 100g. If I could get at least 120g, that'd be worth it.
That would get me to 6.9kg/15.21lbs, but if I'm willing to go there, I might as well go all the
way 14lbs and do 6.7kg. In other words, I'm either going to go for 6.7kg or stop right here.

I think it might be time for me to start looking at picking up an EVO for the Summer.

I had an idea a litlle while ago. I think it looks nice ;)
The one with the red tape is the original.
I`ve done it all black of course. Sadlle would be SSM Regal-e, campy 11-sp group. trek bat cages.

Not feeling the red tape. Perhaps white? I guess it's excessively "murdered out"!

+1. The key is "on a level top tube frame". That's the look I went for on mine originally but there's a couple of things that didn't quite cut it aesthetically. 1) On larger size frames where the head tube angle is usually a little steeper than 73 degrees, the eye will still detect a downward slope on the stem. I didn't like that. Of course, fit should never be compromised for looks in my opinion, but if you can get both then why not. A good example of what I don't like is a -17 stem on a frame with a heavily sloping top tube... Fuuugly. 2) The second thing is that with today's stems (versus the quills of old), that angle at the headset cap is kinda funny looking.
If the frame is sloping, I prefer the look of a less than -17 degree stem (-6 to -10 degrees) looks good. With most Cannondales, almost any stem can be made to look badass in my opinion. I've always liked their geometries.

Yes.

The photo shows 15 lbs 14 oz (which is 15.8lbs).
