Sharing my updated CAAD10 build. Size 48. (Im a midget at 165 cm.)
Exactly 6.9 kilos with everything on it ready to ride and race.
*2011 CAAD 10 size 48, UDi2 shifters, rd, fd, DA 7950 compact crankset 170mm, DA 12-27t cogset, 7900 chain.
*Token brakeset 220 grams., 2010 zipp 303 toroidal wheels ( wide rims ), conti sprinter tubs, KCNC ti skewers
*3T rotundo pro h.bar, 3T team stem 110mm. USE alien carbon seat post, Selle italia SLR Carbon saddle 99g.
* speedplay zero ti spindle pedals. unbranded carbon cages. Garmin edge 500 with cadence sensor.



Super solid race bike.
Future upgrade ---- power meter...

Hello. This is my trusty CAAD from the Western suburbs of Melbourne, Australia.



Currently sitting at 8.6kg as pictured, though looking to change a few things and bringing that number down to the mid 7kgs. Ditching the SRAM GXP cranks and Praxis conversion BB should free up a bit of weight.

Above the bike weighed 7.95kg without the framepump, light and Garmin.

Since then I’ve moved on from Force 10-speed to Force 11-speed, swapping some other things at the same time.

Now weighs in at 6.95kg. So close...

They’re a custom build I picked up. Rims from an old Easton Ascent wheelset, laced with CX-Rays to Tune MIG70/MAG170 hubs. 1335g.

Anybody rocking a shallower headset dust cover on their caad12 besides the KP253 which seems slightly too small diameter wise.

They’re Arundel’s stainless steel cage.

I’ve since added a Power2Max power meter, which has added some weight. In response, I now want to swap the cages out for some Ti King cages amongst some other things. It would be nice to be able to hit 6.8kg without resorting to more CF.

Been a little while since I had a CAAD in the family but picked up this absolute bargain on eBay so couln't resist!



Already a few mods, 38mm bars, inline post, corsas, stuck a 10 arm spidering on there and couldnt not have a gold chain. Need to tweak the fit a bit (especially the bars!).



I have Sram Red 22 to go on it (just need to pick up some shifters), a Fizik Arione R1 and then replace all the bearings as they are rough.

Will also swap the wheels out to some lightweight alloy rims, not 100% on what to get yet.

Do you think a CAAD13 could be built into a comfortable winter and training bike with mudguards? Something like a tubeless set up 28 front and 30 back perhaps? Would be this as comfortable as a similarly spec'ed carbon bike...? Carbon frames are quite cheap...for once its SuperSix brother is not that much more expensive.

Thoughts? My main selling point would be the mudguard eyelets and the fact that the alu frame (in theory) is a bit stronger than a carbon frame (daily abuse).

But how about comfort...?

Quick pic of mine from last year's Spring tidy up. I've now glued some nice 25mm Corsa Graphese tyres on to replace the Corsa CX. Looking for some CarbonWorks cages too. I'll find some more cool tape for this year

How are your SL23 rims holding up? Any cracking at the spoke beds?

Just about 5-600k on the wheels so far no worries and all is well
