Still looking to cut some weight - especially since there's not a good aftermarket replacement for the fork. Anyone else have the numbers on how much the fork paint weighs?
The newer Evo and Caad 12 fork will fit - I have the hi Mod version on my caad10. From memory it was sub300g. I did a thread a while back under the title of caad11...

First time posting here on ww, I've loved this thread. Just finished up this CAAD3 and it is really fun to ride.

Some updates on my CAAD12. But first one in the old set up with Shimano and Rembrandt on the background:

Switching from Shimano to:

Now I know you need to take out the crank to route the internal cables and brake line

And a new lightweigt expander:

Now waiting for an adapter to fit a flat mount caliper to a post mount fork....yes, I found out that the CAAD12 has a post mount fork....and I ordered a Record with a 160mm flat mount caliper... So I have a 140mm flat mount caliper on order now. And I will get an adapter from ASsolutions from Canada to fit it to the fork.

so, I need to finish the front brake and bleed front and rear and put on bar tape to finish the CAAD12.

CAAD7 I was riding last year. Out of all the Cannondales I've owned, CAAD5, CAAD8, CAAD9, CAAD10, System Six, Six13, this was by far the worst, most harsh ride. Looked nice though! I've since moved all the parts to a CAAD9 BBQ but I weighed the frame and fork before selling, in case anyone is interested:

Size 54cm CAAD7 R1000 frame+hanger, no bolts or seatpost clamp: 1223g
Enve 2.0 fork cut with no plug: 321g

I am planning to modernize this beautiful CAAD9 in the next weeks. I purchased that bike in 2009. Looking forward to increase the carbon quota. Happy to post some pictures here.

Finally upgraded the saddle of my caad 10 to a prologo scratch m5! I tried to buy this saddle since last summer but it was NA till last week! Dropped about 50g from the previous saddle, bike ist now at 6780g ride ready but without head unit.

I also wanted to buy eebrakes after thinking about it for more than 2 years, but now the regular mount front version is NA ! and bike24 availability says "Currently not in stock Delivery time 23-24 weeks" :(

Well, I know it is not a CAAD Road bike, but I am actually using it for double duty currently. It is a 2017 CaadX 105 (originally). I have always built lightweight bikes, and I had to tear into this one. My intention is to race a few Gravel events with this bike, and put in a lot of road miles. I have taken the stock weight of 10.704 kg ( 23.6 lbs) to 7.44 kg (16.42 lbs). It is not light enough yet, but I can hammer this off road, and not worry about the parts being too costly. I do plan on cutting another pound or so off with a lightweight wheelset (current gravel set 1820 gr, road set 1523 gr) for both disciplines. I have a Caad 10 that hits the scales at 6.16 kg (13.6 lbs) but have been spending time on the CaadX to get the fit down for racing. I feel this is truly a dual purpose bike that can do both, road/off road pretty well. There is always the question of gearing, but I am not road racing on this one, sooo... I am adding a KCNC oversized pulley this weekend to smooth out the shifting to the larger gears some.. I am concerned about it off road though. will hang lower.
Anyway, this thread is awesome as I am an "Aluminati" believer as well.
summary of parts:
2017 CaadX frame/fork
Sram Red 22 shifters (modified for 1x)
Sram Red Hydro brakes
Sram Force CX1 rear deraileur
Sram Red 22 cranks/chainring 42T
Carbon saddle
Carbon seat post
Cinelli carbon fiber stem/bar combo
gravel wheelset: Stan's NoTubes Arch EX/XT hubs
road wheelset: Mercury alloy 25mm
11 x 42 cassette

Thank you very much :D

I do not have a dedictated build thread for the bike yet! When I joined ww the bike was already build up and I was to lacy to create an own thread just for switching out certain parts. However, if I reach my target weight and style I might create a dedicated thread for the bike ;)

In the mean time you can find more details about the used parts (without individual weights) for the build here.

Ditched my S-Works SL6 Dura-Ace DI2 and built up this beauty :-)

CAAD12 Size 54 (2016)
Red 22 Group
Hollowgram SI
SAVE Seatpost (uncut)
Pro Stealth 142mm
The One one-piece cockpit (-10 and 120mm @ 38cm)
ENVE SES 4,5 Clinchers (DT240, Ultegra 11-30) with Vittoria latex tubes
Unbranded carbon bottle cages (16g each)

Bike is a beast to be honest. Did not expect this performance and there's still some room for improvement weight wise.
