Stoo from memory doesn't race UCI events so has freedom there. Nate just rides to the cafe and back so he's good. And for me I'm working in the +/- 10 cm rule that the UCI has. Though there isn't an official clarification as to where that is measured from. With a flat pad it's easy, b ut throwing them on an angle changes everything.

As glam2def has said, i race very few UCI races and if I do, I have a few options.

Leave the pads where they are and run 30deg reverses extensions and the shorter single button di2 switches

Or

Use the same 40deg extensions and shorter di2 switches and move the pads forwards and higher up the wedge.
This leaves my hands and elbows in almost the same place but the pad would be on my forearm not elbow.

Measurement is taken from the mid point of the pad.

mono arm rest looks very tidy, i get what you are saying, i think i'd need to print another blip mount to move it higher.

It would be the same mount but with the blip mount on the other side of where it is currently.

i've always wondered about the mono pad in the way that it functions for riders. Is it under the assumption that the fixed width, i assume is narrow as possible, is best aerodynamically for the majority of riders?

looks like it weighs less for sure (if that's a consideration) and perhaps it being one piece creates less turbulence in that area than two pieces?

I don’t know about any aero benefits/drawbacks but it’s narrow and stiff (braces the stack)

stoo have you done anything custom to the front end of the trinity? are the cables on the standard module naturally hidden like you have it? are those stack riser spacers (not the angle ones) standard or you made those?

Totally agree... I've been saying that for at least the last two seasons. I thought for sure there would be a new one for the TDF, but it doesn't look like that will be the case, maybe for the WC's?

Nothing custom aside from the angled wedges/armrests/extensions.

Stack risers are all standard, I just used electrical tape to cover the gap between the pillars of risers.

It seems the UCI are clamping down even further on TT position measurements.


- Elbow rests must be made up of two parts (one part for each arm) and are only allowed if extensions are added ;

- The maximum width of each elbow rest is 12.5cm ;

- The maximum length of each elbow rest is 12.5cm ;

- The maximum inclination of each elbow rest (measured on the support surface of the arm) is 15 degrees ;

- The maximum dimension of the cross section of each extension is 4cm ;

- The height difference between the elbow support point (midpoint of the elbow rest) and the highest or lowest point of the extension (including accessory) must be less than 10cm.


So my mono arm rest will be illegal regardless of whether or not I move the extension tips within spec!
