Sad news indeed. I was fortunate enough to own one of his creations almost 20 years ago. A true artisan. RIP

I've reset my bike computer on New Years day and crossed the 5000 km mark last Thursday.
Ninety percent of those kilometres on steel, only ten on titanium.
Even considering retirement for my Extralight and built up another steel frame with its components

I've had a few the last couple of years. I normally always have one to complement my number one plastic bike, I'm a big steel fan. They've ranged from the terrible (Colnago Master which I thought was one of the most over rated frames I've ever owned) to the sublime (Tommasini Super Prestige, Ritchey Road Logic)
Presently I'm on a Nemo tubed Coppi frame I rescued for £90, painted and rebuilt. It is superb. There are further weight savings planned including it getting all the rest of the Chorus parts I just took off my Oltre. I'm a big fan of this one though, Kermit is a beaut.

My favorite bike on the internet - something about it is just perfect to me..Ruimteaapjes wrote:I've reset my bike computer on New Years day and crossed the 5000 km mark last Thursday.

That Taverna is so beautiful every time. Everything about it is perfect; a really great addition to this or any thread about beautiful bicycles.Ruimteaapjes wrote: ↑Sun Sep 02, 2018 11:22 amI've reset my bike computer on New Years day and crossed the 5000 km mark last Thursday.

(13 years old thread...steel bicycles on Weight Weenies; wonderful.)
But maybe think a minute before selling an Extralight though (or at least wait for a CR before you sell it)?

Oh, good. Bravo.Ruimteaapjes wrote: ↑Tue Sep 04, 2018 10:30 amSelling it is out of the question - after cannibalising it for its parts the frameset can sit very nicely in the attic
Having seen your always elegant builds I will be curious to see your next steel bicycle too.
