Lets see some Bianchis

My contribution:
Mario Cipollini's FG Lite from the 2005 season. It has gone through long periods of hanging on the hook in my shop, but every time I take it down I wind up making it my "go-to" bike again. Such a rocket and just plain fun to ride.
Gotta love the custom geo: 53x58 with an "M" stamped in the BB shell just for him.

Calvaire's Cipollini Bianchi is awesome! I would try to find a black san marco aspide (?) saddle, like the original one.
Nice bike Kjetil! How do you find the SMP carbon? Have you tried the composit with inox rails? Is the one with carbon rails more forgiving?

BTW, I think that the celeste tape is a bit of an overkill:)
Gloss, and my bar tape shall be Celeste ever since 1996.
Haven’t tried the inox version of the Composit. The Composit Crb on here a lot more comfortable than the Full Carbon that I used from 2010 to 2014 due to it’s softer shell.
The Cipo one is great. Killer paint job too, the Liquigas.

I've tried the Aspide 10yrs ago and it is the epitome of an "a$$ hatchet", at least for me. Surprised he rode that, as I have many other pics of him riding much beefier saddles.

Gloss is a sober choice. Matte is a pain to clean properly. Anyway, looking at your bike I get remorse because I opted for the black one. I have a cromoly Bianchi in celeste, and I wanted some variety:)Kjetil wrote: ↑Thu Feb 21, 2019 3:50 pmGloss, and my bar tape shall be Celeste ever since 1996.

And it was so, for ever more . In university I purchased a Bianchi Super, in maroon, made in Japan. I didn’t know, I’m sorry. It wasn’t till later that I realized the error of my ways, on so many levels.Kjetil wrote:Gloss, and my bar tape shall be Celeste ever since 1996.
Not that long ago, but same experience. The ridges on the center channel edges were not padded enough and for sure created what you describe as the “a$$ hatchet” effect. But it sure looked nice, for the short time it was on.Calvaire wrote: I've tried the Aspide 10yrs ago and it is the epitome of an "a$$ hatchet", at least for me. Always preferred full Celeste. This one Is my first since the Ti Megatubo I had from 1997 until 2010.

Maybe for the n+1 I would go with celeste again:)
Here's that Ti Megatubo I had as my main bike for 13 years. There was a five year hiatus due to small children, mind you, and when I started using it again I found a crack in the down tube.
Note the non-original Profile fork (a bad crash made me retire the original quill stem Time) and the far back and long position. In the southwestern part of Norway back then everybody was set up 90's Belgian style.
Fun fact: My new bike has those same bottle cages mounted.

My 2017 Via Nirone 7...
Bought as a winter bike and have since upgraded groupset to Athena, Eurus wheels and Fizik finishing kit but am finding it a little lardy (8.8kg) so have bought a Bowman PalaceR frameset from a friend (which is coming next week)

Same bike but different use...
This winter I had to replace my 25 years old Colnago Dream with Dura Ace 8 speed because it had some cracks, the thread of the BB went bad etc...Too bad as I liked it and I used to race on it 25 years ago. Since I bought a dedicated winter/ rain bike last years it went exclusively on the home trainer.
I was looking for some cheap bike for my home trainer with a good geometry and if possible with 8 speed as I still have many 8 speed cassettes that I use on my home trainer. But nothing crazy on craigslist or ebay. And even the cheapest Giant were not that cheap and also not a great replacement of my Colnago for my home trainer. It is only for the home trainer but I wanted to try to still get something nice.
And then I discovered that Bianchi had this crazy cheap (only US$800!) and beautiful Via Nirone 7 with 8 speed in Celeste! I always loved that color! It is crazy heavy (10+ kg) but it is only for the home trainer.
I have meanwhile greased all parts (yes Italian quality..LOL) like headset, BB, etc...slammed the stem and changed the seat post, stem and handlebars for the Deda Zero100 but this was mainly for optics more than for saving weight. If I use it outside I will use some Fulcrum Quattro CX or Racing Zero as the OEM wheels are not that great. I also love the fact that everything is aluminum and robust (compared to my other bikes in carbon etc....).
Anyway here is my dedicated home trainer bike in this beautiful Celeste color!
Even my wife loves the color!
