I've the same frameset. Pick up something called a "magic sponge" or "magic eraser" in the cleaning section of your local grocery place and it does a fantastic job. Better than anything I've ever used. My go to process is to rinse the bike down, babywipe clean/get all the dirt off, and then warm bucket and magic sponge. It's the only thing that has managed to touch any of the sort of ingrained smudges you can seem to get on the matt finish.
Thank you for the pro tip!ianeire wrote: ↑Sat Jun 20, 2020 11:29 pmI've the same frameset. Your bike was the inspiration to try the "yellow" tanwalls!

Does anyone have the new style of supersix that also has owned the older style that can explain the difference in ride quality? Other than direct mount brakes (which is a big plus in my books) just wondering what the pull for the new style would be over the old style.
I would suggest being cautious with magic earasers use to clean finished surfaces. They are abrasive and can burnish matte top coats ( makes shiny spots) and certainly will cloud a gloss finish topcoat for most paint . Car care products where matte specific cleaners and protectants are widely available.
I have found that isopropyl alcohol on a microfiber cloth will remove many stubborn stains from a matte topcoat without abrasives. The IPA is a great degreaser.
I always wax new frames with gloss topcoats as it looks good and makes cleaning easier. I use Klasse sealant for gloss finishes. You can use quick detailed sprays compatible with the wax to extend the wax life between waxing the paint.

Hey, I had a gen2 supersix (non hi-mod) for a few months before my gen3 (hi-mid) so I'll give it a crack with a few caveats.wolfesquire wrote: ↑Fri Sep 11, 2020 12:32 pmDoes anyone have the new style of supersix that also has owned the older style that can explain the difference in ride quality? I can't go too deep because 1) the gen2 was a rim brake 54 and my gen3 is a disc brake 51 frame, 2) the spec of my gen3 is generally higher (more carbon goodness!).
My big takeaway is the geometry of the gen3 asks for you to ride it harder to get the best out of it. That means a more aggressive position to get more weight on the front wheel, otherwise it can feel vague. It also feels better hammering along at higher speeds on the flat, possibly some aero benefit but mainly it feels stable and a good ride where the gen2 always felt more in its element up a climb. Speaking of, I prefer the out of the saddle feel of the gen2, you can 'dance' on the pedals easier I find, the new one doesn't swing back and forth quite as naturally. Overall that's probably the biggest gripe though with my gen3! Overall since I've adjusted my fit (per my first point), it's much more versatile, and feels fast in more situations than the old 'Six. Unless you live at the bottom of an alpine climb or two, I wouldn't hesitate recommending the gen3. PM me if you want anything else!
