Anyone found a good alternative to the Giant Carbon Brake pads? I've just got a set of SLR 1's and the braking is shockingly bad

I've used Shimano and Reynolds carbon pads. Shimano's are okay in the dry and wear well, but are horrible in the wet. Reynolds are very good in the dry but I'm chewing through them. Didn't test in the wet.

Yeah i've had a customer who's had problems with the Shimano ones aswell.
I'll try some Swiss stops and see how I get on with those

I had the same experience as you, but i tried the campagnolo red one's, dry was about the same, but bad weather performence was much better.

I use SwissStop Black Princes pads. They work so much better than the giant and carbon dura-ace pads. I use these on my 16 TCR SLR0's and my partners 16 Liv Avow Pro 0 with SLR0's.

Just did the same, difference is night and day, still not quite as good as alloys but not far off.
Not quite a road bike but a Giant all the same...

My latest addition to the stable: 2016 TCR Advanced SL2.
Bought complete with full Ultegra mechanical, with Giant SLR 1 carbon wheels.
6.75 kg /14.88 lbs - without pedals
6.91 kg /15.23 lbs - with pedals
The trusty 2012 TCR Advanced SL Rabobank is now the designated winter/rainy day ride.
I got the bike with the intention of upgrading to a full Dura Ace 9000 groupset later down the road, in order to get it down to a proper weight weenie 6.5 kg /14.33 lbs based on my calculations, I'm now having second thoughts.
I'm quite impressed with the quality/feel of the Ultegra group (compared to Dura Ace 7900). The most improved areas are braking & front derailleur shifting efforts.
