Funny I was under the impression it was one of the best resources of knowlage and technological advancement in the bicycle industry. So much so that many large company's involved in the said industry and most of the smaller ones keep an eye on what happens on these forums.. I could be wrong though it could be just a place to throw your opinions around. I've found you'll learn a whole lot more about things by listening and paying attention rather than taking though..

Hey guys, I appreciate the debates about opinions and the value of this forum, but how about let's keep this thread about Parlees?
I'm sure you can open up a discussion about the behaviour of users on this forum over at the WeightWeenies section.
Someone else please post a new Parlee or two so we can get back to this thread's purpose.

Ok I'm halfway there: my Parlee TT (see post on page 22) and my pelvis was wrecked by a negligent driver sometime ago. With the risk of being flamed I actually do need some opinions (not "see which you like best" or "go ride them first"). I am going to buy new wheels and am only considering either Enve 8.9's or Fernweg's. Which would you choose? Informed opinions as in actual experience, will be appreciated.
Thanks

I, personally, if I could afford it and was looking at a wheel that deep, would go for the 8.9s purely on the basis that they can be readily re-trued or re-built if necessary by any qualified shop or wheelbuilder. The only downside that I can see with the LW is that they are too specialist in their qualities. Otherwise they look incredible, I love the "industrial" look, and I'm not sure but they may be lighter than standard 8.9 builds.
But the 8.9s can be re-trued. That counts a lot. You can swap hubs, spokes, etc, at any time. That counts a lot.
More Parlees, please.
