No shit sherlock... So you googled art deco and decided to report us your findings. Yeah Art Decor paint jobs don't match the definition of Art Deco and are ugly and tasteless kitsch an sich, that's no news to anybody. They're only being appreciated for tradition, tradition and tradition.
Can live with it.
Better you google before you buy a bike to have an opinion about several things.Or you will find everything cool because you think that traditionalists can't do wrong.
Or do it simple by studying art.

Sorry if I have offended some followers of the bike pope.
In fact CG has a great bike frame out there. One of the best.
Just telling that the king is naked. Lousy paint job.
But still better if you would own a shitty bike with a Cavendish glittering green ,excellent paint job.
No?

The first time I saw an AD Colnago was long ago, it was a Master.
I found it kitsch and didn't like it, the racing man was cartonish and the combination of colours a mix-mash of pinkish, blueish and yellowish colours didn't appeal to me.
At that time though I was into that new guy Armstrong and the newest american OCLV Carbon bikes, the Trek 5200 was the bike to be had, black with red decals, looked sober and elegant to me...
Around the same time the team Mapei with their outrageous kit destroyed the fields on the cobbled classic and many other one day races, all won on a very interesting bike, the C40, dressed on those same kitschy colours, but somewhat the blackier carbon wave made it look somewhat better, I became a Mapei fan. Following the team and the brand Colnago with all its history and tradition.
when I got my first C40 a 2002 model on LX10 that was even kitschier and flashier with blues, golden oranges and whites intertwined, what a difference with the Trek, the C40 was a superb bike, in all points, comfort, beauty, performance, tradition. the kitsch paintjobs grew on me and I was sold to the brand.
Some 15 year after my first encounter with an AD10 Master, I ended having one, the 30th anniversary model on the same colours I had disliked at the beginning...
yes, they could be kitsch and ugly to neophyt eyes, but they represent a lot for us, that's all

I bought the C59 in AD04 to have something different. Personally, I think its attractive, and I'll be the one riding it. I've also got a gorgeous Parlee Z5 SLi with a custom but muted paint job, and didn't want another stealth bike.
2011 Tarmac Pro SL3 Project Black (gone but not forgotten)
2012 Parlee Z5 SLi (just because)
2014 Colnago C59 (why not)
