Sorry to go slightly off topic, how has the Garbaruk ring been? Im looking at a 130bcd, 52t to fit on my Quarq PM. Many thanks
I've had no issues with any of my garbaruk rings. this is my 4th. got 3 direct mount rings. all been very solid. great chain retention on these 1x rings, just as good as wolftooth and absolute black. also have had great experiences with their oversized pulleys cages.

What a beast...but but but...you really need to go black on the saddle and bartape or at least on the tyres.

Both bikes share two wheel sets depending on the wind/ weather.

On the pics they both have Reynolds strike 62mm deep by 25mm wide. With gp5000 23
I now use light bike 56mm deep by 22 internal and 28 external. They are a MUCH better wheelset in every way.
Faster, lighter, stiffer less issues in strong cross winds
With gp5000 25

perfect. that's what i'm leaning towards, a custom light bike wheelset since all modern wheels won't fit my s2. how much room do you have on the chainstay with your current setup? also, is the all blackone an s2?

The black bike is a naked s2. S3 and S2 frames are the same but slightly different forks.
In reality it makes no difference.

28mm wide with a gp5000 25 is really about as big as you can go without issues.
I'd say there is 3mm per side at the wides point on the black bike, but that doesn't have any paint so is marginally wider.

The back ends are bonded at the stays just where the brake track is. Depending how much filler they used this can vary from frame to frame.
I still think you'll be ok with the 28mm wide rims 👍🏻

Edit. My rims are RR56C03 which you need to ask for as they aren't on the site.

yeah i'm getting mixed opinions. i was set on getting a pair of hunt 50s (https://us.huntbikewheels.com/collectio ... 8892640301) but the internal width (19mm) and external (27m) might be too wide for my gp 5000s. and i really want to stick with 25c tires for comfort and more control.

or i could go with the LB falcon r45 with internal width (17.9mm) and external (25mm) with my 25c gp5000s. thanks again for your replies. any additional feedback is greatly appreciated.

The hunts are pretty crappy in my experience so I'd avoid.

R45s are a wasted opportunity as they're still pretty narrow. Is your frame the same as mine ? If so, I'd go 28mm wide.

Unfortunately this forum is full of people who like to comment on posts without the technical knowledge to back up their facts.

If you check your frame dimensions vs my frames I'll help with whatever you need.
