Do any of you ride old vintage bikes retrofitted with modern components? I'd love to see them.

Two of mine (the Trek fits, the Cannondale is a loaner bike for now). Both are similar builds using Shimano 105 5800. Both use an Innicycle threadless conversion headset (my design). The Trek has Mavic Cosmos wheels, Ritchey Classic handlebars and seatpost, a hand-polished Kalloy Uno stem, and one of my favorite saddles, the Fizik Pave. The Cannondale is on Ksyrium Elites with FSA Omega Compact handlebars, a Bontrager stem (tough to find -17° degree stems in white), and an old Fizik Arione.

Love both of them. I'm partial to Trek, but the Cannondale looks wonderful. I'm disappointed that Shimano hasn't released an R7000 group set in silver, because I think it looks great on certain builds (like yours).

I've seen this photo somewhere before. Color combo is insanely great!

The 4 arm cranks really look great on these older frames.. especially the black one

Thanks! The Trek is great fun to ride with the 12-25 11 speed cassette, especially on flatter terrain. The skinny tubes make for a very smooth ride. The original Trek build had a silver crank (and all Campagnolo components) but I have yet to find one that I think would look perfect on that frame. I bought the black group to match the stock build which had black levers and brake calipers and while the black crank doesn't look terrible, it isn't all that fitting on this particular restomod in my opinion.

On the Cannondale, I do wish the silver crank was a little more polished and little less matte finish. But I'm otherwise quite pleased with how it turned out.

Ha! You are definitely in the minority with that opinion (see my post above). I don't hate it but it is the number one thing I'd change on that build (to something silver, polished, and 5 arm). I also want gray rims to match the original hard anodized Wolbers, and polished hubs. Some day.

That is just classy. I've never seen carbon brake levers like that .. who makes them?
