Another perfect build!
Only the shifters are rotated too far upwards.
I know, they are. :P I have to change them and re-wrap the bars because there up there at too much of an angle. The mechanic built it that way. It's ok for the moment but I'm getting some more tape in to re-do it how I want them.

Anyhow, thanks!

My LOOK 695 with DA9070. Unfortunately it has been relegated to wall display.

How are the people with the 785 Huez RS liking it so far? I keep going back and forth between wanting it and the Time Alp D'Huez. Maybe all I need is a bit of temptation. Still baffles me as to why there are so little Look in the wild, or even online for that matter. Especially at the price point.

Have been seriously thinking about making my 595 the oficial “trainer bike and then getting a 785 Huez RS to build with SR 11 sp mechanical and other light bits to be my dedicated climbing/traveling bike. Frankly, already have all the parts here minus the frame set itself!! However, the more I have looked online for comments and reviews of this bike the more I keep hearing the same comment: “it’s just like I remember my 595 used to be. A good all around bike”. Makes me wanna upgrade the 595 I already have instead, as it was the original plan to begin with.

First world problems for sure!!!

I can see it with new SR components, and new eebrakes! Then, throw in some Lightweights to finish it off!ImageImageImage

You sir, may have a huge point here after today’s ride. Had not ridden my 595 outside in some time as I got a colnago c60 about 1.5 years ago and that became my “go to bike”. Today I took out the 595 and “holly shit”!!!!!! Reminded me in no time why I’ve loved this bike all along. Fast, responsive, stiff, it climbs well, it descends like it is on rails, it sprints like a rocket, will also break my ass in 2 in long rides, and simply a joy overall!!! Can’t get enough of it really!!!

After a 60 mile today I’m falling in love with this bike all over again. Just 10 years later!!!!

Did some weighting of the bike with different wheel sets. And while not all the cassettes in each wheel set are the same, the difference in weight is about 20-25 grm at most:

1. 595 Ultra with set of Hyperons: 14.65 lb
2. 595 Ultra with set of Lightweight Gen 3: 14.32 lb
3. 595 Ultra with set of Gifelspum: 13.88 lb
4. 595 Ultra with set of custom built 50 mm with a powertap powermeter and DTSwiss 240 front hub: 15.51 lb

Still on the fence as to whether leave it on the trainer permanently with the Record 10 components or upgrade it to 11 sp Super Record.

Again, first world problems!!

I would keep it and upgrade it. It does not deserve to be used on a trainer. Better to leave the frame bare and hang it to the wall when you no longer want to ride it.

(Sorry for my English)
Having been riding 595 for many years, just upgrade to 785 huez RS two months ago. I chose 785 because its geometry (relatively high stack compared to C64、F10、SL6) and TEAM FORTUNE color (the paint job is not that good, sticks everywhere and paint not that firm). I've tried some wheels on the 785, and the MCC 32 really do the job,for both aesthetic and climb feeling. The 785 is definitly stiffer and resbonsive than 595, but that also means the 595 is more comfortable.
Leave the 595 on the wall now, but someday i may build it up and ride it again.
Oh, the 785 huez RS size S, with ZED2 crankarm and BB65 bearings, seatpost clamp, hanger, weight 1300g, and the fork weights 280g, sorry didn't take a picture.

Hi Santos

what size was your 595?

I ride a 585 and 595 in Large and the 785 RS sizing sits inbetween M and L, i 'd possibly go L on the 785 and run a stem with more angle, as it has a hi head tube.
whats the difference in comfort? is it really noticeable?

thanks.

Couple of quick observations as I unboxed it late last night after work:

-Paint is simply flawless and looks very “thin” as opposed to the thick/heavy feel or look of my Colnago C-60.
-A bit heavier than I expected for a size S at 955 grm with hanger and Campagnolo cups in place. Cut fork was 262 grm.
-All tubes are simply massively ginormous!! Except for seat stays, which are noticeably thin!
-BB are is ginormous too. And I mean big!!
-I’m a minimalist when it comes to packaging and such. Love Assos, but their abundant packaging crap drives me nuts. This was on the opposite end of the spectrum for sure. Suspect the online store that I got it from removed all the extras when placing the cups and just sent me the bare minimum.
-Took literally a week from order/payment to be here. I can’t even get a LBS to order me some gels in that time!!
-Aesthetically, it seems muted and underwhelming with good balance. But honestly, I feel the same about 99% of bikes these days.
-Loving the more simple paint scheme with 1/10th of the logos and graphics of other brands and even Look itself a while back.
-The seat post was missing upon arrival. Hopefully it will be shipped and here by the time I finish building her up!
-Name remains to be chosen!!
-The expander and cap used and sent by Look is literally the same as in my 595 from 10 years ago. Also heavy as an anchor and overbuilt.
