Thank you!
Yes, there are good offers on ebay, but mostly in U.S. I am living in Europe, so fees and shipping make it to expensive.

BTW: replaced the ugly original picture by not quite as ugly picture, my camera is crap, and i cant take pictures.
I sent a set of wheels with insurance to Norway for $70 US. It was pretty good.

Hi,
sorry, if i misuse the topic for a question like this, but, concerning my search for a shallow wheelset: this seems, correct me, if i am wrong, to be a very fair offer, and the shipping cost of AU $67,00 is quite low as well.

https://www.ebay.de/itm/ENVE-SES-2-2T-G ... rk:13:pf:0

i think this is a perfect wheelset for an izalco max.

but i am wondering

-why nearly nobody is buying a wheelset
-about the claimed weight of 1415 gr/pair.

how can enve-tubulars weigh so much? shouldnt those be 400 gr. lighter?

Regards, and thanks,

They should be, much lighter but not under 1kg. I think the frame doesn't have to be a one trick pony but with shallow climbing wheels, it becomes that. Why not something like the Roval CLX32 or Zipp 202 or HED Stinger 3?

you are absolutely right, and thats a great choice of wheelsets, especially the hed stinger 3 is interesting and new to me, thanks for the tip! i already have zipp 202 tubulars (2013) on the focus, and i never would sell those, a very good wheelset, and although quite light with 1137 gr.

but, due to current reason, i would need a further wheelset, and for aesthtical reasons, i would prefer a 25mm-set on the izalco max (maybe you know that the izalco max have adapted tube diameters, so the small sizes like my 52 have really very slim tubes. imo shallow wheelset go best with such frames).

i found the light version of the enves, as you said, the weight is arround 1000 gr.

another interesting wheelset is the xentis squad 2,5, but, to expensive, i saw tune skyline 850-gr going for +/-900.- euro

If I had the choice, it would be the Tune Skyline set but the enve 25 is a strong set of wheels. I know a few guys who have them and none have broken or damaged a set. No complaints from them either.

I have a pair of 25mm wheels from FSE that I got from another member on this forum. They suit the bike very well even though I have a 56 so I understand what you mean.

yes, i know your bike with the fse (another interesting manufacturer, but very rare) wheelset, i like this version very much!

i think i will wait for a a a pair of skylines. as you said, its shurely not as strong as enves, but they should carry my 61 kg. and it would bring the bike weight down to 5.7 kg.

btw the new izalco max is out now, with prices and specs. honestly i dont like (semi) aero bikes and disc-brakes, but at least, the company remained true to its lineage and kept its appearance really simple, waiving any kind of embellishment and sensationalism.

I watched the YouTube video and the “review” from one of the test riders in the official video. Overall I like that they’re trying something new and they made it stiffer but more comfortable however... it’s 2019. You can make a bike stiff, aero, and light. This isn’t light.

Hmm.... maybe if/when it’s time for discs but that is currently not in the foreseeable future..... currently happy with my little stable.

You’ve already seen it. Not sub 5. It’s in the 5-6kg category - Focus Izalco Max 56cm eTap - 5.31 or 5.82kg

nothig special, just a tiny little detail work concerning colour-accents.

canceled the plan of purchasing 24mm-carbon-wheels, the 202s are still good and look imo ok, rsy as well, so no purchase required.
regards
