Thx 😁 still looking for a perfect stem thow
Thomson would suit the slender lines of the frame really well...not the lightest of course.
On my badweather bike i have a Tune stem, a similar black one or lighter would be nice i think.

No? I rode a while with a chaperone with 'hope' shirt & with a fast chaperone up the mountain in schotland 😁 Great experience, love the country!

Minor refresh - etap and pro vibe SL bars. Borrowed the wheels from my Spooky (BC Flechtwerk 45) for my next ride.

Picked up this barely used Mares CX from 2016 for €280 on eBay. Moved over my old 6800 group. Will use it for CX, Gravel and commuting. Went for the 38mm Vittoria Terreno Mix instead of the usual Gravel Kings for Gravel and Commuting. Bike feels very snappy despite the mediocre components and heavy wheels.

Shopping (wish) list:

@calleking
Looks great!
Do you have a weight for the frame and fork?

Weight was 915g for the frame and 422g for the fork if i recall correctly. A lot of bike for the money these days.

@calleking

Thanks for the reply.
I think most of the Mares colour schemes are pretty good - yours, in particular!

Going to have a look for a frame myself, now :-)

..... Izalco is on the way to Focus factory in Germany, I am waiting for the outcome.
.....
Hi,

all the best for your claim! let us know, how focus handled the case!

regards,
O outcome, lost pedals at return (Look Keo Max), thats one aspect of it.

great outcome on other hand, I have repaired or patched it my self using a kit for reparing fishing rods.

1st I sanded off using mostly 150 paper around 1mm. The damage at the seatstay still visible.

Now I guess it was slammed with 10kg mallet with 0,8cm2 tip.

So I don't it think was anything else but manufacturing error.

Anyway 1st epoxy layer soon after mixing, too runny, so another after 1,5h now thicker, and then 1.5h later, single piece of cloth 2 rounds.

some fresh epoxy on top and

Tape around (translucent not sticky for epoxy) needle and I see epoxy coming out in small drops so enough of it.

24 hours later, remove tape and surprise

everything is flush, one layer of spray and as before.

There are many many variables in this process, but the position of the damage, tube itself being seatstay and many many others I feel safe 100%.

i did first couple of short rides (still without cover paint so that I can see if anything is going on) then 40km and the 85km with 800m up and down, bumpy pavement sometimes but no change at all, coin test (i don't have else) is "still" excellent.

So I will not buy from Derby anymore, but I like riding Izalco really a lot. 84cm seat height and 120mm stem on XXL.

I think it is the 1st bike I can sprint with without fear of hitting the handlebar with knees. (without having 150mm stem)

So happy with geometry so will buy an 61cm Felt FA for 2nd bike (and replace Canyon XXL Endurace frame with it) it is almost like Izalco XXL.

Cheers,

Hrvoje Marin

So instead of Felt Fa, I went with for a frame that can go 32 tires on dual pivot and much nicer color too.

on par with Izalco on geometry, and much more practical for winter

Hi,
good idea to repair the damage by yourself, i although did this several times!

But how could your pedals get lost?

My days with "Derby" are counted as well, as much as i like the "old" Izalco max, i have nothing in common with their current "Portfolio"
