Likely the last update for the rest of winter. A little bit too triggerhappy on ebay meant new hydraulics - they feel like they have less stopping power than the HYRD they're replacing, but I think that's the pads. I'll get some swissstops in a couple weeks if necessary.

9.3kg fully loaded when i had the sram red callipers and TRP HY/RD brakes. Will re weigh when i have a chance.

Nice bike. Looks clean without the polished bits. How do you rate the ride?

I want to compliment your photography here. It's not only a beautiful bike, that is a beautifully composed and shot photo! You could frame that.

Thanks! Coming from carbon race bikes, the first thing I noticed was it's not as snappy in the rear triangle but has a pleasant kind of springy stiffness. I've had bikes before that were not very stiff in the rear end but felt like lead weights whereas this feels like it's reacting to the terrain. It also noticeably tunes out road buzz and feels very planted (using the same wheels and tires/PSI from my Orbea). The front end is plenty stiff and comparable to my Orbea but not rock solid like the new S5 I rode. On the super steep stuff you can notice the weight/stiffness a bit if you're mashing out of the saddle but otherwise it's a non-factor for me. It's a great all-day ride and I've done a few 5+ hour rides so far and love it.
