adirik wrote:@Kristof047, I love the brown theme and especially the Selle Italia SLR Nubuk saddle! I've got a similar theme, see the pictures of my Eriksen gravel bike a few posts earlier. What bar tape do you have on there? When I tried the matching Selle Italia smootape, I found that it turned black pretty quickly and wouldn't be very durable, so I replaced it with Supacaz tape (in "coffee" color) but while I like the tape the color doesn't quite match the saddle anymore.

Trivio soft Brown handlebar tape. Synthetic, still the same color after some rainy rides. Prettige sticky at the back tough (changed handlebar)

Thanks! The ride is excellent, very stable front end and rear-biased for steering. I'm really happy with the geometry I spec'd.

That is a very nice bike Marin! What brakes are these, that they fit both 700x35c and 650Bx42c? The only thing that is missing is a pair of mudguards to make it a proper winter bike ;-)

I assume the seat post is custom painted? Doesn't the paint get damaged when you make small height adjustments?

Thanks!

The brakes are TRP RG957 for the 700c wheels and Tektro R559s for 650b. The 559s have just enought adjustment to be used for both wheel sizes, but the braking isn't as good as on the TRPs, even with the same pads.

Post & stem are custom painted, and yes, the paint gets scratched. However, I simply started with a high saddle position and only had to adjust downwards :D For the next project, I'd only paint the post down to a few mm above the clamp area so the black carbon would visually blend with the black clamp.

Winter bike: Of course, frame & fork have hidden mudguard mounts, and I have a fitted set of full-size SKS with mudflaps sitting in the workshop. No rack mounts because bikepacking.

Marin - what is the story behind heretic bikes? Can’t find a great deal out about them.

Heretic is my own private label. Basically, I found that I couldn't buy the kind of do-it-all bike I needed, so I designed it myself :D I was bored last year so I made a website, but didn't update it with the newer frame versions yet. I do post new stuff on Instagram from time to time though.
