Hello to all fellow Cipollini owners.

Can someone help me with a Bond headset bearings? Mine need replacing but all the markings are gone. What are the correct diameters and angles? Thank you in advance.

Hi all.

I thought I'd post in here directly after slightly derailing another thread on 'Cipollini bikes UK' with my saga.

Anyway here is my NK1K, I originally bought the frameset in August which had a defective seat tube - sorted out with a replacement frame no quibbles thanks to Paligap the UK distributor who were great to deal with.

First ride out today and much relieved that it was not a let down- stiff, fast on the flats and zero flex uphill. The front end is incredibly direct and rigid and will take a little getting used to. My TCR doesn't lack in that regard but it's not a patch on this.

Bit of a porker at 7.67 kg but electronic Chorus 11s does weigh a bit vs record 10s mech on my TCR.. you honestly can't feel the extra 900g when you stomp on the pedals since it's so rigid.

Build was reasonably straightforward, especially bb386 and wide tubing meaning insertion of battery etc up the BB was ok (wouldn't go in the aero seattube.. Charge cable (EPSv2) can be accessed by removing the under BB blanking plate..

Only just moved to 11s and the ratios are great, 12-27 and low position I think suits my 'diesel ' engine. EPS is a revelation.

The frame itself is immaculately finished in shiny black white with carbon 'exposed'.

Cheers.

Hi all,

I know there was some chat about it on the other thread but there didn't seem to be any resolution.

Does anyone why some frames are being sold without the electronic hole in the top tube undrilled and some with the hole drilled?

Looking at the nk1k manual online now. You can see the spot where they leave a dent in the frame where the electronic access port is. You can actually see the two spots in the finish where both cable access ports are supposed to be but remain unopened. You can also make out a square shape behind the holes in the layup, reinforcing perhaps?

Does anyone have any experience drilling this hole?

I still don't quite understand why they would be selling some frames drilled and some not, while leaving the dent where the hole is supposed to be.

Thanks!

Hi
Early frames were drilled at the factory.
Now Cipollini stopped this and advises each owner to do it by him self saying it will not void the warranty.
We never do that and it is much better to use a down tube port. Not ideal regarding looks but much safer solution...

NK1K owners....is the stock seatpost cradle/clamp suitable for oval (carbon) rails? If not, is there a part # for the correct cradle?

I've got a Fizik Arione 00 saddle on mine. That has oval carbon rails.

Lovely. But shame about the disc brakes. There was a promise of a 5.5kg rim brake version. This might be my dream bike. Anyone seen any updates?

Great looking bike this Dolomia but I dont like disc brakes either. What is point having climbing bike with disc brakes and make it 550 grams heavier.

Who's got experience with running a Shimano chainset with the Shimano 41mm pressfit BB, combined with the Cipollini provided adaptor cups? I'd prefer not to have any creaking (which itself could mean rubbing!).

So far, other options I'm looking at are the Hambini and Token Ninja BB386 to 24mm BBs.

Now I don't remember the weight of the frame itself. It's L size in custom painting.

New wheels are coming tomorrow, so I will add new photos in a few days.

By the way, I will also weigh.

Unfortunately, I am not an outstanding photographer.
Weight 6.85 kg with pedals, bottle cages and Garmin holder.
