Not a frequent poster here but ran across this thread as I was searching for a Koppenberg for a buddy....if you have a 60cm and want to sell I know a guy :D

Anyway, here's my 62cm Domane Classics, the pre-Koppenberg frame with the Roubaix inspired geometry (longer wheelbase, etc.) This was one of Gregory Rast's frames from 2012 season, and although it does has the Paris-Roubaix cobbles sticker on the top tube, I don't believe he raced this frame there, or if he did he finished on another bike. This frame came to me in great shape and I know there is another identical version at Trek HQ that is beat to hell and shows all the appropriate signs (and dirt) from being ridden hard on the pave in that dusty version of the race.

Either way I love it......since these pics I swapped up to DA9000 but kept everything else mostly the same. Some people claim this geometry is terrible for road riding outside of the cobbles, but I don't mind it at all. Sure it's not as quick handling as some of my other bikes, but I do most of my riding solo with very little need for a quick handling race bike. I prefer a stable handling bike that sweeps through corners (which is why I've owned and loved C50's and many Merckx bikes) and this bike does that while also giving a bit on rough roads with the Isospeed setup.

Enjoy the pics, cheers.

Nice, but that is not a “pre-Koppenberg” at all. It’s its own animal, as is the Koppenberg, and both geometries coexisted, with Cancellara riding the Classics geo in Paris Roubaix and the Koppenberg in virtually all the other races including Flanders and the Grand Tours. I have a 60cm Koppenberg and if you do find one, snap it up. While the Koppenberg is more or less the same H1 roadrace geometry as the Emonda, the Classics version you picture was pretty much solely for the cobbles of Paris Roubaix from the get go. It’s geometry is called the “Pro-Endurance” geometry today and can be had in a special order Project one Domane, specifying Pro-Endurance geometry, but it is not at all the same geometry as the standard Domane either. Thanks for posting your pics here.

Finally got the last piece in after a month. Was waiting on Alibaba end caps for my Performance Bike Grail wheels, which use a Powerway hub. It never came, but I realized that Sta-Tru did the build and they had end caps that worked.

Old warrantied frame back from the shop for parts harvest.

New frame built. I've got some wide LB wheels inbound. The Di2 port works great for a backup tube/CO2 storage location. I was happy to see that I could run cable housing bow to stern, which I couldn't do on my Emonda ALR frameset. (Cell fisheye lens always makes the saddle and bars look off)

That is what I thought, thanks. I didn't think the SLR version was available in anything other than a 20mm setback.
