As a one time owner of two Domanes, one Alu and one carbon, that thread by the much missed Calnago is out of the top drawer. Loads of detail, information but in an interesting way. I've recently noticed there was a Domane Classics for sale on ebay, as well as a Domane frameset as used by Leopard-Trek in 2013 Roubaix.

Just to not have this thread run completely dry, I am sharing this here also:
I was trying to take a few nicer images during my ride today, but it is really difficult to capture what makes the "Navy Smoke" color way so special. I will have to take out the DSLR next time. The last image probably captures best what makes it so amazing.

Well, I see I misspeeeelled Roubaix as usual.
It is a Radio Shack Leopard Trek Actual Team Issue Roubaix frameset. The original Classics long and low. And beef city I'd add, the DT especially compared to my Kamtail Madone is even more huge. Fits some 32s, not all. Pictured are Ritchey Alpine JB 30mm.
It is so non mediocre performance wise, it spoils you to being far too fussy about normal fine bikes. I had a Scott Addict HMX LTD for 5 seasons that also has ruined what I will accept...
And a little cool touch of a Jens Sharpie signed on the top tube.

I doubt I'm flexible enough to ride the Classics edition but my dream bike is a Koppenberg, that's doable.

I'd say the same degree of flexibility for them both is the same and not really where the differences lie.
Think of the Classics of a long stable crud buster, and the Koppenberg more an H1 Emonda with some seatpost compliance with the Domane ISO decoupler. You can get pretty much the same geom on a Madone or Emonda H1. The Classics front end is not quit as steep and has lowish trail comparitively.
I can tell you I have a Kamtail Madone and the Classics. My Madone is 60CM/H2 with a slammed stem, I much prefer the front end on the Classics myself. So stack not really the issue as I have the same saddle to bar drop, I do have shorter reach stem and bars on the Classics. So the cockpit is same length. The Wheelbase on my 62CM CLassics is 5CM longer, the BB 7mm more drop. I run a 175 crank on the Madone, a 172.5 on the Clasics. That negates a percent of the additional BB drop. [1/3] I am super comfortable on both. So 2.5mm shorter cranks on Classics w/BB drop of 75-2.5=72.5, Madone 68mm BB drop, 4.5mm difference. It is the difference between some pedal systems stack frankly.
