Looking for an aluminum frame with aluminum fork to build up as a rain day bike with disc brakes. Looked at the trek FX and the Marin Fairfax 2 models but I think seven bills for just the frame and fork is a little more than I want to go in for... As the component packages on those bikes is worthless to me.

Any ideas on where to acquire a frame w fork other than they used market?

Bought essentially the same frame as above this morning from random bike parts.

117... Included headset, bottom bracket and seat post collar.

I think a given the QC is not what is linked in your post.. now to find a fork made out of metal. So I can learn the ins and outs of disc brake mounting, adjustment etc, and put a wheel set together.

'Learner project' all around.

So FedEx drop the box this morning.. this was a no-brainer given a very low cost. If anything the paint and welding is better than the Trek frame that I recycled a couple years ago.

So now to learn the ins and outs of disc brakes. :beerchug:

5.75 lbs w seat post collar, rear hanger, BB, and kickstand.

Took delivery the other day on a fork from a eBay vendor. :noidea:

LMAO... Appears the crown race area has a non metal covering to bring it up to spec. The same covering is hiding imperfections on the fork.. even wrinkled---comical.

And.. the seller expects me to repackage it and ship it back to them.

Point of this post other than for pure entertainment purposes.. is what tack do you employ to make eBay refund without having your ship this piece of junk back?

I mean... The dumpster is a lot closer.
