:unbelievable:  :unbelievable: That is unbelievable! Gorgeous! Please detail a bit where you went, etc. Looking for a lower cost locale for a European cycling trip.

Derbyshire and Cheshire this afternoon

This is a tiny shrine by a roadside near Buxton, the only one I know of in the area.

Routier - I've always wondered are there any Buxton springs to fill up bottles there? I'm in Spain right now and all the locals fill up their 3l and 5l bottles from mountain springs. If I lived in Buxton or cycling through I would do the same!

I've never really been through the centre till today, but a quick Google shows that there's at least one there. I'll try it if I go again.

thanks btompkins - I have added locations above.
The Pyrenees are great all the way. You could definitely cycle 3-5 days out of St Jean Pied de port (but the town itself is a bit of a tourist trap as it is a classic stop for pilgrims/hikers to Santiago de Compostella). Get the IGN 1/25000 maps to discover the small but paved roads.
Some more?

col Burdincurutcheta (or rather Burdincurutxetako Lepoa)

Esnazu - the pelote basque court crosses the road, traffic stops for a game

col Burdin Olatze (looks a bit like Derbyshire, no?)

Another awesome addition to the thread, basilic!

I'll share my humble cycling adventure from this past weekend. Along with a few friends we completed a 130 mile ride to a vineyard and back to celebrate one of the guys b-day. We started out riding in a bit of rain which later cleared up. There were some quiet flat roads, some climbing and of course some unknown hidden gravel sections! Here are a few photos:

After two weeks of great cycling on vacation in Spain this thread brought on a new meaning yesterday, I was proper 'On the road' I hit the deck on some oil and water on a roundabout - never the two shall mix, wrecked an assos jersey, road rash and cracked/badly bruised ribs. Waiting till I am back in the UK tomorrow to go for an Xray.
