Frankie's now doing something far worse than attaching tubulars with tape, he's exclusively using clinchers. Frankie should be apologizing to you. :smartass:

Hi,

This Frankie isn't on any clincher. :hmm:

Ciao, ;)

Ummmmm. Actually, that might have been been me  . I never had the 'opportunity' to ride clinchers when I was racing, so I needed to try it (can't bitch about something you never tried, right?) I can happily say, I will never have to do that ever again (now, I'm trying tubeless  )

Hi,

Actually, no. It's neither one of us.
HammerTime2 must have been too high up in the mountains. Now he's as confused as a barking bird.

now, I'm trying tubeless

Oh, dear...What's next? Tufo?

Ciao, ;)

Frankie - B, got it?

Actually, I haven't been up in the mountains yet this year (literally, and I think not figuratively), but maybe next month, at least literally. And I will for damn sure be riding tubulars ... glued, not taped.

Got that ages ago but what I don't get is what Frankie B has to do with it in the first place. AFAIK he's got nothing to do with this thread even though he agrees on how to put Tufo tape to good use, etc.
The poster said: "Sorry, Frank" and in all modesty, I think that apology was addressed to me, not Frankie B.

No biggie, you go climbing, I'll go gluing some more tubbies.

You guys are a riot!

On tubeless, yeah, but you've got to try it, though. I grew-up training on Barum tires (Czech team), which is now Tufo, so I guess I have already used them for decades!

^I'm trying tubeless too. Might have some practical merit.

BIG error/typo on my part - Vittoria CX suck in the wet, not Conti. Sorry.

Pray share where from, Comps at reasonable prices?

Ah, O.K., that figures.

Conti Comps are incredibly overpriced. Never found them offered at a reasonable price anywhere and quite frankly I can't be bothered.

Note that the latest Vitto CX are quite alright in the wet if not on a par with Conti's Black Cili compound.

Thanks fdegrove. :D

If the price is good I'm happy to give the new Vitts a go. I'm not expecting to lay it over on every corner but I really don't expect to be kissing the pavement when I make the slightest deviation off a straight line, as soon as it starts spitting.

As said, Euro land. hibike.de has them under €60, all versions. bike-palast.com charges a few euro less, but no 25mm. Unable to get 25s below €99 last year.

Is Vredestein tubulat gule made by Vittoria? Can and tubes are same weight and they look the same too. Is it just rebrended Mastik One? I'm asking because Mastik One are hard to get, few shops in Europe have Vredestein glue.

Hi,

Yes, it is the same rim cement. Surely Mastik One isn't hard to get?

It is. Few shops that do ship Mastik One to Latvia have high shipping prices and not much other stuff to purchase along. Few shops that have decent shipping price and lots of interesting stuff have Vredestein glue and if it's Vittoria Mastik One with Vredestein sticker on it, I'm in for a few.
Thank you my tubular friend.

Hahaa, so many mistakes in my post, it's 3AM, probably time to end browsing biketechreview
