Hunt rim-brake: how's the braking?

I'm riding some old Vision Metron 55's, which visually have the same looking brake track as the Hunt's. My Visions are pretty noisy and weak with any pad I try, so definitely don't want to buy a set of Hunt's and have the same problem. Any experiences?

Mine were good until it rained. At which point they were very very not good, which is an issue in Scotland.

My friend is happy with the braking on his, but they're on his dry weather only bike.
