I was taking a look at the rear hub on my DT Swiss 240EXP hubs and noticed a gap between the freehub body and the hub body itself. I pulled it apart to make sure there were no additional spacers or parts inside, but everythng appears to be exactly like the manual specifies. I pulled the little red spacer out and put it together, and the gap went away. Obviously I'm not going to ride it that way, but I wanted to see if that may be the issue.
Is this actually an problem? It's not a huge gap, but it's there. I ride these hubs on the road so they're not going to get as dirty as a mtb, but I'd still rather not have dirt and dust getting in there.
Gap with the spacer installed
No gap with the spacer removed
Possible DT Swiss 240EXP Issue
