Building up a DA7700 Pinarello Cadore with 46 mm lightbicycle satin carbon wheels to make a vintage/modern hybrid. Use it every day and it's a joy both in terms of ride quality and aesthetics!

I'm over 200 lb so figured I'd build strong wheels, the 36H alu rims it came with are weak. So 24 spokes front 28 rear, i have the 7700 28H rear hub, but struggling to find the 24H front hub although I believe I've seen photos of them.

Any other 24H dura ace polished silver front hubs i could look for?

Poking around on Ebay I saw a handful of 12H DA7700 hubs. Adding the extra holes would be a fairly simply job for a machinist. You could also try looking for Ultegra 6500 which had basically the same finish as 7700 from what I recall. 24H front just wasn’t a very popular option back then.

Thanks! 12H hub is an interesting idea, I could do it myself if I had the machinery.. Will look for ultegra too, worst case I just have to wait until something gets put for sale.

I’d be curious to try it if I had a reason to! A fairly simple jig could be made to align the new hole based on the two closest holes. Drill it undersized then ream it to size with a little bit of deburring. I saw nothing in the way of 24H Dura Ace or Ultegra hubs so that might be your only option.

Use a 36 holes hub laced for 24 spokes?
Here an example I have in mind

Here's one way: https://cyclesaloon.wordpress.com/2014/ ... front-hub/
I was thinking of making an alignment jig as pictured. It should be more accurate than marking the locations by hand. You could 3D print it even and use steel pins to align to the existing holes. You just need to know the basic hub specs to design it.
