I purchased a pair of zipp 404 firecrest a couple months ago, and the front wheel has significant lateral play in the hub. I looked at the specs for the new zr1 hubs and it doesn't look like there is any way to adjust preload other than the wave washer. Before I go thru the hassle of dealing with Sram warranty, I was wondering if anyone had come across this and had an easy fix?

I had a set of 404 NSW wheels and they came brand new with defective bearings in the rear wheel, lots of side to side play.
Bike mechanic said it was typical for Zipp wheels.

@Lucendi : 5 pair of Zipp wheels here, never had one problem .. so easy to say that it's typical for Zipp wheels.
@SCJKJ, new Zipp wheels ( since 77/177 hubs 2017 ) don't have an option to adjust preload on the bearings.

Ah, ok. Well, my new super-9 disc still has that option, so I assumed others did as well.

just a follow up in case anyone cares. I took the hub apart and it turns out the bearings weren't pressed in fully. Seated the bearings properly and all play is gone.
