It looks like Scribe Wheels has come out with a new line of wheels using UD Carbon Fiber spokes. There's not a lot of information out there about them and no real pictures or rim profiles on their website.

It looks like these are different than the Winspace/Hunt wheels with UD Carbon spokes. The 50mm Rim Brake version has the same basic dimensions 50mm depth, 19mm internal width, 26mm external width, but is lighter and has a higher spoke count so it could be stiffer.

For the 50mm Disc Brake version, it has a much wider profile than the Winspace Hyper so it should work better with wider tires.

Does anyone have any information on these wheels? I'm particularly interested in the 50mm Rim Brake wheels and how they compare to the Winspace Hyper's but I'm sure others will be interested in how the disc brake versions compare.

Send them an email and ask about them. team@scribecycling.com They have been pretty responsive to my questions. I have a Elan 42 disc set on order, but no delivery date as of yet. I also went with these for the width and higher spoke count.

I did email them asking for some more pictures, and they sent two, neither of which give you much information. They said they'd load more pictures to the website at the end of last week.

I hope they post a rim profile. For some reason Hunt and Winspace don't post one for their carbon spoke wheels either and I think that's pretty important information for the buyer.

On the Elan 50 Rim Brake page they also list the front wheel as having 20 spokes in one area and 21 spokes in another. The rear wheel is listed both places as having 24 spokes.

They just sold out of their second batch and now it looks like the end of March before they have another batch. I'm surprised so many people are willing to buy wheels without pictures or a rim profile of what they are buying.

I've also made some questions. They said the wheels were up for review is some common review websites. I've been waiting but nothing so far. They also said they'd update the website around November but nothing new. They seem to be somewhat lost in that regard.

They also said that the profiles are the same as the regular scribe but with some better layup (whatever that means).

i dont think they are the same as HUNT/Winspace/CADEX. the forementioned three use the same oem hub shell/flange. Scribe seems to have use their own hub. this suggests it may be other oem like farsport etc

(i have no proof of any of these, just what i gathered from browsing here and other forums.).
Some say pour 10ml water out of your bottle to save that last bit of the weight. Sorry, i go one step further, i tend to the rider off my bikes.
n+1...14 last time i checked, but i lost count

I just bought a set of the Scribe rim brake 50mm wheels, with normal spokes. Very well made, and was considering the 38mm rim brake carbon spoke version, but I'm in the US and Scribe doesn't pay duties, so it was another $100 (US). The Hunt version is $170 (US) cheaper to start with and they have a warehouse in the US, so no duties. Similar weights, but the Hunt 36mm wheels are 16/21 spokes and the Scribe 38mm are 20/24...not sure spoke count & rear lacing would make much difference, but I'm not a wheel expert. Thoughts?? Just read a review of the Hunt 36mm carbon spoke rim brake wheels, and seems to be very positive. I'm also not sure of the technical differences in the hub design between the two either..

That's previous version at best. For disc wheels they use 21mm internal, 30mm external.

That is their current rim brake profile per their customer service department. I was looking for new wheels for my rim brake bike, but found a deal on some Bontrager XXX 4's.

I have a set of the Elan 42. Great wheels. Stiff, but not harsh and they definetely roll fast. CArbon spokes have not been a concern at all. Get a good tire though. I'm using the GP5000S TLR 28 and I think this is a great combination. The weels felt slower with the Vittoria Corsa G2.0 Tubeless I had on for a while. The rear hub is loud, but I find it acceptable.
