I've been riding my Willier Zero.7 with iCan Aero 40's but have thought about using part of my Christmas bonus to get a better set of wheels. My budget is around $1,000 USD and I plan to run 25mm tires - probably tubelessContinental GP5000S-TR's. My frame fits 28mm tires but I think that's a true 28mm as I don't have a lot of extra space around my 25mm tires which are around 27mm mounted. This is on my "fast" bike that I generally only ride in the dry in races or group rides where I really want to push the pace. I have a disc brake bike for slower "training" rides.

I'm looking for a ~1350g 50mm rim brake wheel that is optimized for 25mm tires. Is there anything better out there than the Winspace Hyper 50's in the $1,000 USD range?

With those criteria should I:

A. Save my money and stick with my current iCan's
B. Get the Winspace Hypers (with 10% off)
C. Get something else

I just ordered a set of Light-Bicycle's AR56s with the Black Friday sale. With careful hub and spoke selection you might get down to that weight target.

Has anyone compared the Winspace Hyper 50 to Light Bicycle AR56? I can keep the LB under 1400g with Extralite hubs?

Difficult to beat the hyper in 50. They are stiffer and lighter (sub 1290 w/o tape) than anything else with steel spokes.
2 things could make you try something else: using 28mm tires or different brake tracks (but nothing fancy exist in that price range).
