Just double checked them in the Post office on their calibrated scales, exactly the same.

It's a total system weight gain of 28g buddy. I really wouldn't be that worried about it, unless you're absolutely chasing a certain total build number.

This is why it's always good to buy a bunch of tyres, weigh them all, keep the lightest ones and send the rest back.

Is the 'translucent' effect actually just painted on? This could be where the additional weight is coming from.
No, it's the "natural" color of the casing rubber for the tan(translucent) sidewall tires. Conti's cream sidewall tires have an additional layer (cream-colored rubber) that does add a little weight......

I've bought 100 tyres in various sizes just to keep a single pair of each. Excessive?

Actually, yes it does matter. Your in the business of selling bikes and components so I understand your biased, just buy it anyway view.
Imagine if we accepted a 30g gain on every bike component we bought especially when they are charging a premium price.
No, if it doesn't weigh 250g they shouldn't state that. If it's not 20% better rolling resistance then they shouldn't state that.

You're crying over 28g for a £120 product. If not happy, return them and buy something else. Logical, no? Or buy the black version since they come in on weight.

And no, my business is not about selling bikes or components. It's a hobby and does not feed my family.

Perhaps the 50g. quoted weight saving is the average across all sizes. My 32s were about 60g. lighter.

I weighed my worned out rear 32mm TL and it was 349g. That's 30g. of weight loss from when the tire was new. So there's quite a bit of tire weight variability between tires, old vs. new, one batch vs. another batch.

Go out on a ride and enjoy the new tires. You've got a 70g. rotational mass reduction.

I got my second ride in on my new 32s. The route included ten miles of broken up and weathered pavement. At low pressure (55psi) these tires are truly amazing. They just float over the road imperfections with ease.

The 25c's are supposed to be 250g, but yours are the first of the tan sidewalls I've seen weights for.

My guess is the 20% faster was true in at least one of the Continental tests. Now that might have been at 85 km/hr or on a smooth drum, or a textured drum, or on rollers - we really don't know anything about the test, but I don't think they would have advertised it if they hadn't gotten that result after the marketing department picking and choosing test data to share.

But that's not how materials work. Machined, forged, stamped, etc. metal structures are going to be very consistent in weight. Solid plastics too. It's complex composite structures that are (in part) made by hand like carbon frames, tires, foam saddles, etc. that tend to vary in weight.

Are you saying Contis marketing claims about the gp5000tr 20% RR reduction are yet another outstanding advert of how trustworthy the German automotive industry has suddenly become? :D

Just received my GP5000S TR Translucent in 25c. I'm disappointed in the measured weight = 263g & 265g, supposed to be 250g. My GP5000TL 25c measured 300g new, on the same scale so these are not 50g lighter. These are also nearly double the price of the Schwalbe Pro one TLE at the moment😡. Yes I have removed the paper instruction sheet before measuring.

Schwalbe Pro One are significantly slower though...

oh the hype about the 20% increase in RR and then the let down of the actual #s. It's been a bloodbath.

I totally understand the dissapointment of not getting the advertised 20% reduction in RR, but they are still the fastest TLR tire thats durable enough for daily use. They just aren't any (or much depending on the test) faster than the pervious version.
