In terms of ride quality, how is it comparing to the clincher GP5000 with a latex tube? Although I've never ridden the TL, I had the impression the ride quality was worse on that one although not sure where I got that from!

However, with Continental having used the same tire compound (Black Chilli) and significantly shaven the tire thread down, I have no idea where the f'ed up to make the TR this comparatively "slow".
Compared to any tyre with a similar level of puncture protection it aint slow.
It is faster than many tyre with far worse puncture protection.
I would say they have succeeded very well in making a tyre with the rolling characteristics of a race tyre that can be used as a daily tyre due to puncture protection and wear characteristics.
It will be a top seller.

Yeah, they did that 3 years ago, when they released the 5000TL...

I think we can close this topic here.
The new tire is good, just not nearly as good as promised.
We can still continue to live a happy life, despite this fact.

Vittoria is rolling out the new corsa soon. Just fyi
They should. Once people figured out and become well known that current Vittoria tire is pretty lacklustre then the sale slow down significantly. So they have to keep releasing a new one and hype it up. They'll obviously get quite a lot of sell initially, as a lot of people will want to try it out if new gen can combine good rolling with unmeasured properties like legendary level grip and comfort. Unlike Continental that rolling resistance was pretty much everything and if it's busted, people won't buy. Vittoria fans don't believe graph is everything and they'd prefer to test the real feel out of the tires themself. It was very succesful on Graphene and G2.0 generations where they hype it up as if Graphene will make its legendary good head and shoulder above other tires. A lot of people switched to Vittoria, use it for 0.5-1 year until it worn down then switch back to Continental etc as they can't feel the promised benefit of Graphene.
Imagine if they release a new tire with big hype (like Graphene) every year instead of every 2-3 years.

Vittoria Corsa variants are probably the second most popular race tire range locally...or at least very close to the Schwalbe Pro One. Conti GP5K is the clear #1, but it's okay to be #2 or #3 in such a competitive market.

I don't mind the TL and would keep using it.
This one is lighter and better "feel" apparently. The sidewalls should be strong. I've heard people complain about GP sidewalls before. I've not had a problem.
In terms of sales it will sell more than the TL, as it is easier to fit and goes on hookless rims.

Just got a set of ENVE 7.8 disc.

Front: 29 Outer diameter (19mm internal)
Rear: 27.5 outer (19 Internal)

If the GP 5000S TR stay true to size, could I get away with a 28 or should I stick with the recommended size 25?

Also was considering Corsa Speed 25 but keep hearing about durability issues.

For all out speed, use the 25mm Corsa Speed. I have 7.8s and ONLY use them in some races, so I may as well put the fastest tires available on them.

Where did you get yours from and was there a wait? I've had mine ordered (and paid for) since early July and still no ETA.

And to answer your question, absolutely stick with the 25. The 7.8s have been tested and you don't want to use a 23 and you don't want to use a 28. Just a 25.

Just received my GP5000S TR Translucent in 25c. I'm disappointed in the measured weight = 263g & 265g, supposed to be 250g. My GP5000TL 25c measured 300g new, on the same scale so these are not 50g lighter. These are also nearly double the price of the Schwalbe Pro one TLE at the moment😡. Yes I have removed the paper instruction sheet before measuring.

Jarno from BRR weighed his at 255g. Have you tried weighing a volume of water to see if your scale is accurate? Additionally Crr >>>> weight, even when climbing steep grades.

Could it be that the transparent tires are heavier?
My transparent pro ones in 28mm were around 10g heavier than the black ones.

Is the 'translucent' effect actually just painted on? This could be where the additional weight is coming from.
