Just replaced a set of 25mm Challenge Strada Pros with 25mm GP5K S TRs. I am usually insensitive to “suppleness” but the difference in ride feel between these two tires is huge. I’m currently 64kg and the Strada Pros are very rideable at 85psi. The GP5K S TRs are bone-jarring…my Madone was making atypical rattling noises. The GP5K have to be inflated at ~75psi to feel roughly the same, and at that partially negates its Crr benefits.

@Tobin I should admit that the Challenge Strada Pro HTLR tyres are my "magic velvet carpets" (at 27 mm) even at 90 psi. Yet, IMO the Schwalbe PRO One super race are better in terms of RR (not in suppleness). So I have decided to keep the Challenge during winter time and change to Schwalbes in Spring again.
A am also thinking of using 27 mm (rear tyre) and 25 mm (front tyre), what do you thing about that ? Happy new year to everybody !

That's kind of where I am at. Challenge Strada Pro in 27mm might be my off-season tire with the 28mm GP5K S TR in or 25mm Corsa Speed being my race season tire options.
I have a set of WTO's set up with a 28 in back and a 25 in the front to see what I think, since they are a bit narrower wheels than what i've been running 28's on. My roads are a lot better now but so far I like it.George46GR wrote: ↑Sat Jan 01, 2022 9:56 pmA am also thinking of using 27 mm (rear tyre) and 25 mm (front tyre), what do you thing about that ? 25mm:
25.9-26.2mm on a 19mm/28.75mm ENVE SES 5.6 Disc front rim at 100psi.
25.6mm-25.9mm on a 19mm/28mm ENVE SES 5.6 Disc rear rim at 100psi.
Has anyone tried S TR on a wide rim, how wide they get in the real world? I understood that S TR isn't as wide as the old TL. Especially interested for width on a wheel with an ID of about 25mm with 28mm or 30mm tire.
For reference I run LB WR50 (hooked, ID 25mm, OD 32mm) with 28mm TL and after 3tkm width of the tire is about 31mm.

AFAIK the size change is only on the 25mm version. The rest of the sizes are the same as the old TL. BRR has said they will be doing a new test comparing all of the various sizes of the S TR. So keep an eye out for the upcoming tests. FWIW I have the 32mm S TR and they are the same exact size as the 32mm TL. Keep in mind that new tires will stretch so initially they will be slightly narrower than a well worn tire.

Thanks for both, will watch for BRR. Looking at ryanws measurements it seem like all others than 25mm being the same size is correct, 28mm is probably still the right choice for WR50.

I previously used the 5000 TL and just installed the new 5000 S TR (28-622). Does anybody else have problems with leaky side walls? I'm using about 60ml of Orange Seal Endurance and rode 30km with them, but the pressure lowered from 5 bar (72 psi) to 1 bar (14 psi).
