Also curious about availability and what the future lineup will look like.
Will the "S" version be a product refresh (like the iPhone S-models)?
I'm no product manager, but my uneducated guess:
1) GP 5000 Tube Type - this current version will be deprecated
2) GP 5000 S Tubeless Ready (TR), can be run with both tubes or tubeless. Might need a little more sealant to get the sidewalls airtight, sidewalls collapse easier, tubeless setup a little bit more faff.
3) GP 5000 S Tubeless (TL) - already airtight without any sealant. Relatively stiff sidewalls and harsher ride.
Maybe they release two versions for compatibility with tubeless hooked rims and tubeless hookless?
Current GP 5000 only approved for hooked rims, but many wheels brands are releasing tubeless hookless rims (lower manufacturing cost, lower weight).
Personally, I quite like the ride feel of current 28mm GP 5000 with a latex tube. Supple, fast, reliable.
So for the rest of the season, I stick with the 28mm + Latex inner tube.
Would be great to try out 30-622 version in a tubeless setup. Hopefully next season.

Saw on another forum that release will be early October. Have no idea as to the credibility but seeing as photos are leaking out wouldn't be unreasonable.

No you didn't.jfranci3 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 03, 2021 6:18 pmStan's had a number. I used that.petromyzon wrote: ↑Fri Sep 03, 2021 3:52 pmHave you actually measured the weight of 20mls of dried sealant? It seems to me that it would be less as the water content is so high, but I've never tried.

Stan's is mostly water and propylene glycol--about 75% by weight. At 1.006 grams per ml, its aggregate density is almost exactly that of water.
Even if the remaining 25% is solids—and it isn't—20ml of sealant weighs 5 grams or less once it has dried.
Don't fabricate data. If you don't know or you're speculating, acknowledge it—there's no shame in that. But if you don't, you're just making shit up.
You don't believe I used the first number I saw??? ....and you wanted to tell me that 18days after I said it to someone else??youngs_modulus wrote: ↑Tue Sep 21, 2021 7:42 pmNo you didn't.jfranci3 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 03, 2021 6:18 pmStan's had a number. You're right that my number doesn't pass the sniff test now that I gave it a second thought, but you can do it w/o the negativity.
This 2011 dude says it's 11% of the wet weight https://www.mtbr.com/threads/weight-of- ... st-9112702

This is what Filippo Ganna rode to TT victory.
Tubeless GP 5000 (see tubeless valve), and with a black permanent marker a suffix after the "5000" has been written over.
Must be the "S" or "TR" (tubeless ready)?

Really interested to see, if these are Corsa Speed beaters. They will very likely be more aerodynamically efficient (1-3W in TT speeds), and if they roll about as fast, they might become the number one choice for TTing.

I think you can be absolutely certain that they're already the number one choice......FlatlandClimber wrote: ↑Thu Sep 23, 2021 10:50 amReally interested to see, if these are Corsa Speed beaters. Edit: I wonder if they've assessed the change in aero properties from the raised text incorporated into the sidewall?

Now that is a good observation. Are we seeing Conti go hookless compatible now?

If they also have the same puncture protection as the regular GP5000 TL then we'd basically be looking at the perfect tyre!FlatlandClimber wrote: ↑Thu Sep 23, 2021 10:50 amReally interested to see, if these are Corsa Speed beaters.
