I don't know how Jarno measures tire width but from my experience the width of a tire can vary >1mm depending on where you take the measurement. If you have a digital caliper you can try it out. Take 5-6 measurements at random areas and you'll see what I mean. When I report tire width as measured I always take six measurements and report the average figure. I still think on average the TL and S TR are identically sized. The reported difference by Jarno comes down to measurement margin of error and tire-to-tire variability.

GP5K TL on ENVE SES 5.6 front: 27.2mm@80psi after 24 hours
GP5K TL on ENVE SES 5.6 rear: 26.8mm@80psi after 24 hours

GP5K S TR on ENVE SES 5.6 front: 26.0mm@80psi after several weeks
GP5K S TR on ENVE SES 5.6 rear: 25.6mm@80psi after several weeks

I took many measurements along the circumference of each tire. The variance on Conti tires is never anywhere close to 1mm. I'd say typical is up to .3mm and that is in part due to occasionally placing the calipers over raised lettering or decals.

The variances on my 32s are over 1mm. I guess the wider the tire the higher the variance. I don’t run anything narrower than a 32mm.

I guess Conti did in fact make the 25mm S TR smaller…to allow it to be used as a TT tire.

And these are 28mm, 30mm, or 32mm?

The OP didn't say but they have to be 25mm tires.

A bit confusing...since @pdlpsher1 mentions 32mm.

And also interested in 30mm or 32mm on Enve AR rims which are wider internally than SES 5.6 wheels.

Is anyone here using the 25mm TR on a 23c Internal Width hookless wheel? I know that Conti says 21c is the widest that they endorse, but I am hoping that someone has tested the 25mm on a 23c wheel. I would be running this at 71psi.

More data points:

I mounted a fresh pair of 28c on new Light Bicycle WR50 wheels. One weighed 269 g, the other 273 g. I have not yet put sealant in (it's -20C outside!), and found it somewhat interesting that the light tire goes flat in about an hour, and the heavier one takes overnight. Both tires mounted without much difficulty using my thumbs only and seated immediatley when inflating with my air compressor (valve core in place).

The wheels are claimed 25 mm internal width. I measured them at 25.25 - 25.75 mm. The freshely mounted tires at 70 psi measure 29.8 - 30.1 mm wide.

I'm about to order 25C for my 21mm internal width rims, but Conti should have added 26C to their lineup, especially if there is more than a 3mm jump between 25C and 28C. The bike industry cares too much about adding more cogs, while not about tire sizes.

The 25mm tire will measure ~27mm on a 21mm rim, while the 28mm might measure 29mm. The difference isn't going to be 3mm.

As one of the previous posters I'm about to order 28C for my 21mm internal width rims to replace 28C TLs (which are just a hair above 320g and measure 28.85~28.9 mm on the rims).
I tried to search this topic but infomation is a bit scattered around, so anyway I've got an impression that black walls are somewhat lighter than the tan ones for this model.
Is this correct? Because with some other tires I'm using, say WTB Raddlers or GravelKings for gravel bike the tan ones were on the lighter side.
I don't mind the color itself just want the lightest set, and I've found blacks in stock at several german online retailers and ready to pull the trigger.
Thanks!

The sample sizes are small as not many people have their hands on the tan wall tires and posted weights yet, but from what I have seen that appears to be correct that the tan walls are slightly heavier than the black walls. I'm not sure the reasoning for that and my guess is with a larger sample size they would be the same. It appears that other than a small batch at launch most of the tan wall tires have been out of stock with Feburary delivery dates thus why we haven't seen many posted actual weights.

Thanks, this makes sense.
Just pulled the trigger on 28c black, gonna keep them boxed, wait till tans are around (I've seen ETA late Feb/early Mar), order those also and then mount the weight winner.

Posting for documentation sake - I received a set of 25mm tranparent TRs in November of 2021 (so probably first batch if there have been any process changes), which weighed at 254 g each on a scale of unknown accuracy and claimed granularity of 0.02 lbs (~9 g). At 80 psi they measure out to 26.7 mm set up tubeless on Light Bicycle AR46's with bead hooks and internal width of 21 mm and about 920 km of use. Condensed in table below:

GP5000S TR
Size: 25-622
Color: Black/Transparent
Quantity: 2
Measured Weight: 254 g / 254 g (scale claimed granularity of 9 g)
Measured Installed Width: 26.7 mm
Install Configuration: Tubeless with no rim tape (solid rim bed without spoke holes)
Rims: Light Bicycle AR46 Hooked Rim Brake - 21 mm internal width
Tire Pressure: 80 psi
Use: 920 km

What if the winners turn out to be one black and one tan? :D

I was one of the lucky ones to get my hands on a handful of transparent 28mm's back in November. They weigh 274g, 275g, 278g, 280g and 282g.

For black 30's, they weigh 295g and 296g.
