Hi All

I saw the tour de France 2021 this year, many teams are using the Vision New Metron SL 45 and 60, specs says are very good, new hub design, ligthness

Is there anyone already test these wheels? are good enough or just wait for the New Dura Ace Wheelset??

thanks

To be fair it’s alright but nothing special no? Standard 2021 stuff. 1390g. New hub. 45mm deep. 21mm internal
Width. Tubeless ready. Hopefully price is 2x cheaper than the likes of Zipp and Enves.

I am using the previous gen vision metron 40sl. All around very good wheels for the price.

I’m confused at the specs. BikeRumor says the wheels are 1390g and 1460g. Vision’s own site and Road.cc say 1510g and 1600g. The heavier set of weights makes no sense. That would make them the heaviest new wheels in that price range and at that depth, by far.

If the 60 clincher really is 'only' 1460g, that's quite decent for a big name brand at that price point (assume online retailers will go quite a bit below 2k€. By decent I mean sub €2k retail vs 3-5k for most of the usual suspects.

Anyone know if those decals are removable? They look raised? But maybe they're that kind of baked on powder coat like stuff (my Sartori carbon bars have it and it's virtually impossible to remove).

I guess they ride tubulars, not clinchers so probably a different wheel..

With Shimano the rumor is that they are not able to supply even pro teams with enough wheelsets..

72T? Seems really high for road use ... that's a lot of extra drag. Assume the pro teams are using one with fewer PoEs.

More teeth doesn’t necessarily mean more drag, especially if the more PoE means they are shallower and you don’t need as much spring tension.
