Wow where'd the 22% discount come from? I was looking around for RSLs at a discount but couldnt' find them.

Mine came installed with the TLR rim strip (white). I did not get any rim tape, but given that Trek pushes their TLR strip, would think that any tape supplied tape is not meant for tubeless. FWIW, the TLR strip is much heavier than tubeless tape-I had the LBS remove the strip and taped it with Schwalbe tubeless 23mm tape and, based on a recommendation form another WW member, replaced the stock tubeless valves with Stan's valves, as the base of the stock valve is contoured to work with the TLR strip. One of the wheels took a few days to hold air, but no issues with the tubeless setup since then with either wheel using Conti 5K TL tires.

Thanks, I'll look into getting the tape and valves then.

Is this a new wheel? It's from the latest Cycling Tips video. 2:18.

He is saying he is riding the RSL 37s, so maybe the wheels are just an early batch or something..

Anywyas, he is saying there may come something new which makes sense. Trek going from XXX to RSL, I strongly believe we will see a deeper RSL wheel for the Madone. I think most pro's will find the RSL 37s to shallow, so Trek will have to come up with something new to prevent the riders from using old XXX 4/6.

Interestingly enough most Pros are still on XXX4 (47mm depth). Probably because many still run tubs.

This morning I killed some time looking at P1 color options, and also noticed that RSL51 was an available option when choosing wheels.

Interesting. Same price as the RSL 37, with same specs (DT Swiss 240 EXP and OCLV carbon).

There's nothing on Trek's website as of yet. The only reference I can find online is the site listed above.

Did they really have to change the “AEOLUS” font? Now it won’t match the one on their other parts. :/

Regarding the imminent launch of the RSL 51:
https://www.sorensensport.no/bontrager/ ... less-ready

The text reads:
→ Extremely lightweight Aeolus RSL 51 is the perfect upgrade when you want to get faster. The new Aeolus RSL was created using Bontrager’s new three-dimensional modeling process, and increases the speed a notch without compromising stability. It is constructed with the lightest OCLV carbon, RSL, which is shaped into a new 51 mm rim profile that provides optimal speed and versatility in all conditions. Tubeless Ready rims with a larger, 23 mm inner width that provides air resistance, which contributes to the speed gain, while extremely light hubs with DT Swiss 240S internals and a 36-tooth Ratchet EXP boss ensure smooth operation.

All carbon wheels from Bontrager have a lifetime guarantee for the original buyer, and Carbon Care provides extra security. If your wheels suffer serious damage during cycling during the first two years, we will replace them. It’s that simple.

Product details:

RSL OCLV carbon is lighter and stronger, and enables faster, more stable rim profiles
A 51 mm deep rim profile based on 3D modeling that creates our fastest and most stable design ever
23 mm inner width that demonstrably rolls better with less air resistance and provides a faster wheel system
Tubeless Ready (TLR) rims are compatible with Bontrager TLR rims and TLR tape
51 mm deep OCLV carbon rim (30 mm outer), DT Aerolite spokes 24/24, DT ProLock nipples
Extremely light DT Swiss 240S internals with 11-part Ratchet EXP boss with 36-tooth engagement, boss for 12-part sold separately
Disc brake hub with CenterLock and 12 mm continuous front and rear axle, axle can be changed to QR and 15 mm
TLR rim tape, TLR valve and regular rim tape included

I have a P1 Madone on order with the RSL 51 wheelset scheduled for late May shipment. LBS was not able to get any additional details than what has already been discussed here when ordering. Now crossing my fingers that it ships with the newest 12 speed dura ace......
