I currently run a pair at 1334g with original rim tape but without the valves.

Has anyone seen a rim profile for these wheels? Neither Winspace nor Hunt (which use the same rims) seem to publish ones on their website. They appear to be a V profile with 26mm being the widest point at the brake track.

Interesting that despite the trend of wider rims - rims wider than the tires, Hambini thinks the Winspace are the fastest wheels at 30kph because they are narrower and he recomends rims the same width as your wheels.

Narrower is faster at higher averages. Wider is ideal for slower averages and better for less experienced riders in cross winds to a certain point. Hence the popularity. Look at Swissside’s testing and profiles previously before succumbing to wide rim popularity train.

Well I'm probably on the slower side of things with about a 28kph average!

I’d expect they’ll eventually release wider rim profiles in the future.

Hambini used 23mm tire in his testing, which is good for 105% rule when used on winspace hyper.

The only problem with a wheel designed for 23mm tires is they are quickly becoming hard to find. I have a new set of 25mm GP5000S-TR's to mount on whatever wheels I end up with.

I recall reading this but can find a trace, would you remember where you read it?

I know he stated he was riding the Winspace Hypers with 23mm Continental GP4000's in his video review. I'm not sure where he states what was used during the wind tunnel testing.

He did during testing yes,

So if using 25mm tire i guess 21 mm internal, 28 external would be better than winspace hyper :noidea: :noidea:

Hi just one short question:
If using disc brakes what kind of lock ring can be used?
Inner or outer lock ring? (see attachment for details if needed)

I reckon either will work, since the lock ring thread should be standard. The issue if you have sufficient clearance on your frame between either.

FYI... I am using a DT Swiss 6 bolts to Center Lock adapter which uses an "outer" lock ring and had used a Shimano XTR RT99 with a "inner" lock ring on my Giant TCR.
Both works.

The only issue i've noticed so far is that my front wheel in particular is quite noticably 'gritty' when spinning the wheel in the hand. I've had other wheels where if you do this it just feels like air - smooth and zero resistance. With the Hyper's I can feel the friction rotating. They still spin quite well but as I was replacing another set of wheels with 'well used' bearings I was really hoping for something super smooth again.
I dunno if it is a one-off for you since no one replied with a similar experience. I am using Hyper 38 Disc as well, but the original ceramics seems to work well out of the box. However, I have since switched to a set of non-contact seal NTN/NSK bearings.

Thanks for the reply.
I want to go with the Shimano XTR RT-MT900 which is center lock so no adapter nedded. On my current wheels I use the "inner" lock ring so this should work I guess.
