No info on Winspace site regarding braking surface material, heat resistance, etc.
Are you riding latex inner tubes?

I have a 50mm that I run with latex tubes (and with veloplug at the rear, some say the tape does impact heat transfert).
Braking is really good too me. Now I run eebrakes and I do spend the needed time to adjust pads (still amazed how people overlook this since it makes a massive difference). I rides in the Swiss or French alps and never had any problem in the long descents. I pulled the tubes, after few tdf stages I followed, to detect any deformation or signs of wear and couldn’t see anything.
I rarely ride under the rain but happened last week and breaking was much better than I was expecting, never ended even close to be in panic mode in the 180 turns.

I found your review now, very informative!zappafile123 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 12, 2022 11:42 amI wrote a review of the 65s. Read it. Braking is medicore but works. I run latex tubes.christiancarr wrote: ↑Fri Sep 09, 2022 12:44 amHyper 65 rim brake wheels owners, what is the braking like?

I also plan to fit 23c tires (probably Michelin Power TT), they will be more like 24-25c anyway.
Do you descend with latex tubes as well? I know how to brake my rim brake bike, but still I am a bit worried. Have you tried to touch the braking surface after descend or something?

I´ve never heard of the veloplugs. It looks like good idea and the weight is very low.C36 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 12, 2022 12:49 pmI have a 50mm that I run with latex tubes (and with veloplug at the rear, some say the tape does impact heat transfert).

About the tape, did you mean it helps to transfer the heat to latex tube more than veloplugs?
Actually, I am almost decided to order Hyper 65, Vittoria latex tubes, GP5000 or Michelin Power TT 23c tires (and now maybe the veloplugs too).
I can´t see any other fast stiff light wheels options at this price.
Maybe I´ll wait for some black friday or Christmas discounts, if there are any.
It was more of a test and I haven’t seen anything wrong but the few g saved.christiancarr wrote:

If it helps, 23mm Michelin Cup are 25.15 and 25.25mm once mounted and just under 1000km.

In this case I´d probably avoid Michelin Power TT. Conti GP5000 should be better to comply the 105% rule.
Michelins have lower RR, but if they are probably too wide for Hyper wheels.

What is the perfect tyre and size for the enw 2023 hypers with 27,6mm width? I assume GP 5000 in 28mm (non TLR) is pretty pefrect, right?
Thanks.
Thanks.
26.4/25.2 for my wider tire that’s 105%, my 25 gp5k was 27.8mm so even wider compAred to nominal.christiancarr wrote:In this case I´d probably avoid Michelin Power TT. Conti GP5000 should be better to comply the 105% rule.

Gp5k in 28 will be way way wider than the rim. The 25mm may be too wide too (my gp5k on a 19mm rim were 27.5mm wide)KalleWirsch wrote:What is the perfect tyre and size for the enw 2023 hypers with 27,6mm width? I assume GP 5000 in 28mm (non TLR) is pretty pefrect, right?

So, what would be the perfect tyre for the Hyper 2023?

If I got it right, the actual width of the tire must not exceed 24.75mm if the Hyper 65 wheels measure 26mm at the brake track.
I read somewhere in this thread that GP5000 23mm measure 24.5mm on those rims. But GP5000 are made with regard to popularity of wider rims so they are allegedly narrower, not sure about another brands.

2023 model include Hyper 33, 45, 67. Hyper 67 is 28mm wide, Hyper 45 or 33 are both 27.6mm wide. The 25mm GP5000 should be perfect.

Has anyone had problems getting the supplied gray brake pads in Shimano brakes?
3 of the 4 gray pads provided from Winspace do not fit my Ultegra R8000 brakes. They get stuck 2/3 of the way and won't go any deeper. Only one of four goes all the way in, and only at full power. The pads seem to be too wide or too big to fit into the brake shoes.

I know, why do you think I am talking about 2023 range? I am interested in Hyper 65 wheels 2020, not 2023 Hyper 67.Hexsense wrote: ↑Fri Sep 16, 2022 9:13 pmHyper 65 isn't 2023 model.christiancarr wrote: ↑Tue Sep 13, 2022 4:46 pmIf I got it right, the actual width of the tire must not exceed 24.75mm if the Hyper 65 wheels measure 26mm at the brake track.

I wrote they are 26mm wide. New 2023 wheels are a lot wider.
Because I'm not aware you are discussing your own case simultaneously while KalleWirsch also ask about tire width for the 2023 hyper just a few post above. I assumed we are talking about the case quoted below.christiancarr wrote: ↑Sat Sep 17, 2022 7:19 pm
