Got my Foundation 45 today. Probably no ride until Sunday unfortunately.

In person they look way better than I expected, and I had pretty high expectations. Nice gloss black and the understated Enve logo is decent, I don't really dig the larger logos on their other products. It also looks like the "45" decals can be removed which I'll try soon.

Excited to get a ride in!
Did you ever try to remove the decals in the end? Any initial thoughts on the wheels so far? Thanks!

The 45 decals are still on there - wifey got hit by a car pretty good while riding so that's consumed my life! She's going to be fine, though :)

The wheels themselves have proven to be excellent for me. My LBS set them up, some kinda strange tax law here leads to 7% lower tax if I have them put the tires on and subsequently "install" the wheels. So obviously I had them do that.

I don't have a huge amount of comparison to offer; my Giant Defy has stock carbon wheels, and I've previously had 302s from Zipp for a time.

First ride was appropriately enough very windy. Was really happy with the control I had, as it was probably the most windy conditions I would ride in and no issues. Above the high 20s in /h I really feel the speed kick in, and I got some KOMs with really no effort.

Uphill has been a breeze. I'm a reasonably strong climber (like as in strong for a guy that will never race and has a diet high in doughnuts & beer) and they didn't slow me down.

Looks continue to be excellent, although spending more time cleaning.

I bought these a few weeks before the new 303s came out. Not sure if I would make the same decision, however, I've also been very happy.

Glad to hear she's ok

Anyone else have any experience with these wheels and their overall thoughts on them?

Must admit I'm very tempted with a set of these in the 65's. Are they tubeless only?

I've had the 65s on my Venge for a few months now, and although they haven't seen too much action due to the weather, when I have taken them out I've been impressed. Obviously can't comment on their aero credentials, but they feel stiff (and I'm 90kgs) and have handled well in crosswinds considering their depth compared to my other set of carbon hoops (Hunt Aero 50s). Overall I'm very pleased!

They are tubeless only in the sense that the rim is 'hookless' and therefore you need to use a tubeless tyre that will seat on the rim properly - you can still stick a tube in if you prefer though. I think Enve has a tyre compatibility chart on their website - if memory serves, Conti GP5000 are NOT compatible.

I'm running tubeless with Schwalbe Pro Ones 28mm and they measure a ridiculous 31mm - comfy as hell and just about fit in the Venge frame, but will swap to 25mm (that will presumably come up as 28mm) come the summer.

Thanks appreciate the reply. I'm still procrastinating... zipp 404's or these?!? Both look like great wheels and the zipps can be picked up with a bit of discount at the minute.

Old Pro One?
My Pro One Addix TLE 28c is only 29.5mm on 23mm internal width rim. Enve 65 has only 21mm internal width so it should measure even narrower.
For reference, Continental GP5000 28c is 30.15mm and Vittoria Corsa G2.0 28c is 30.33mm on the same rim.

BTW: Schwalbe Pro One Addix TLE 25c is 27.4mm on 23mm internal width rim. This is narrower than Continental GP4000sII 23c. It'll be a substantial downsize to go from old Pro One 28c to new Pro One Addix TLE 25c.

Those of you who have enve foundation 45. How do they are with crosswinds and gusts of wind?

Yep, currently got the older Pro Ones on in 28c. I have a new version 25c to try - will see how it comes up but agree that it could be a big difference and a 28c might work better.

Does anyone know, if the mavic 360 freehub Body fits on the foundation 65?

What is the actual weight for the 65 with tape? And are there any aero tests out there for them?
