Yup. There's an apostrophe between 303 and "S".

Are they actually "new"? I think, they're the same model carried over from previous years. IIRC, Zipp even stated that going forward they're all-in on discs with new models.
Well, new graphics, zr1 hubs, lifetime warranty. True that rim profile is not like the new disc versions so depends on what you define as new.

Personally I find the new decals to be rather abnoxiously loud and hideous.

So I need some help, torn between two options including the good old emotio vs ratio..

I ride a colnago prestige disc cyclocross frame.
Feel like the time has come to fullfill a long time wish of getting a pair of zipp 303's to join it. Mostly riding cyclocross so 32 and 33mm tyres. No gravel.

I have the option of buying at the same 1000 euro price:
- A pair of 303s, newest version, new.
- A pair of 2018 303 firecrest, almost brand new (demo wheels)

I much prefer the graphics of the 2018 version, the weight is about equal if I am not mistaken.
So it is graphics vs new, versus hookless. (Perhaps a reason to go with the firecrest since i could then swap them with my road bike)

Any reccomendations?

The internal rim width of the old firecrest is much narrower than the new 303S: 17mm vs 23mm. I suppose the wider would be better for cyclocross tyres?

The disc 303's were already wider before at 21mm. The 404's rim brake version (that I have) are indeed 17mm.

Therefor it would be a very very easy choice for me; the 2018 Firecrests. They still have hooks, already support tubeless, aren't excessively wide (21mm is somewhat the max if you'd ask me) and they look way better.

They are not tubeless as far as I know (303 firecrest 77/177 hubs)

Edit: Now I see only disc version is tubeless :)

What do we think is released this year? I'd be interested in a "404 S" if they were to release that.

I would be interested in a 404 Firecrest if they have it the same treatment as the 303 FC this year (wider, lighter, cheaper)

I would not count on 404 S wheels existing.

wtf is zipp doing with their aero lineup. 4/8 series. outdated and no updates. sales must be in the terrible. g** zipp is outclassed by dtswiss/roval/bontrager. the mighty have fallen. sram management.

COVID happened. 303 FCs have not been in steady supply since release, no point in updating the whole line-up all at once. ENVE has not released 5.6 or 7.8 replacements either.

Just look at backorder dates for any random popular component or complete bike...you're going to see some dates ending in 2022.

Tobin is right. About a month ago I talked to Ben @ Caden (what a great guy, he actually called me about a freehub order I placed, unbelievable) and he mentioned supply chain issues that everyone in the bike biz is facing. Until now the only Zipps I've ever owned were some 404 tubulars with Campy Record hubs back in the day. Every time I considered them they just seemed too heavy and expensive for a great rim with sometimes dubious hubs. However, the new 303 FC discs are a great wheelset - light, wide, stiff, and a nice mid depth width at a reasonable price. I love my set and was lucky enough to get a smoking deal on them from a buddy. What's not to like unless you are anti hookless rims but there seems to be plenty of good quality tires out there that are OK to run. If Zipp/SRAM can launch 404 FCs that are a little heavier than 303 FCs but still sub 1500 they won't be able to keep up with demand for those, either. I'm a Campy nut but unless the hubs on my 303 FCs turn out to be garbage they seem to be a better value than Bora 45 WTOs (even at retail price) and are 150 grams lighter.
Seven Axiom SG - Force AXS rim brake
Colnago C50 - Campy Chorus 12
Wilier Filante - SRAM Force/Red AXS
Wilier Zero SLR - Red AXS

Can anyone clarify what is meant by this?

This website is selling Zipp 303 FC "clincher" disc wheels of the 2020 design:

https://www.probikekit.co.uk/bicycle-wh ... lsrc=aw.ds

However, according to Zipp's website, there is no "clincer" disc variant of the new design, tubeless only:
