I hesitate beetwen two wheels for hilly training rides: roval c38 and a slightly more expensive (after discount) roval alpinist cl. I would like to lose some weight as my tarmac comp is quite heavy over 8kg.
c38 will allow to run me on tubeless, roval alpinist cl don't
c38 will allow to run gp5000 tubed tire that I like the most, roval alpinist don't (hookles)
roval alpinist have better hubs 350vs370, and are more lightweight.
roval have straight-pull spokes, c38 j-bend
I can't decide.
The Roval Alpinist CL is not hookless, the only hookless rims makes are their Terra line.
This being said, many here have run tubeless with the Alpinist CL/CLX rims as the profile is of an tubeless rim.
Also, I think you can run GP5000 but just need to be careful as they are very hard to mount and dismount and could damage the rims

Yes they are,

click on image and scroll up way down, you have rim profile.
Lack of tubeless support is no problem for me, but lack of compatibility with standard gp5000 tubed tires.

You cant go by that image because its not close enough to see. These wheels are infact hooked, I can take my tires off tomorrow and take a picture to show you

Yes, I have the Roval Alpinit CLs on my Aethos.
Holy shit, I am eating my words!!!! I am wrong.. I think you are right.. they are hookless... WTF.. according to Bike Rumors article and their close up picture.. This is a weirdest thing ever.. 21mm internal hookless and non-tubeless compatible.. What was Roval smoking when they made these rims lol

But the Cycling tips article says they "ar" Hooked.. WTF.. Okay I am goin to pull the tires off and see for myself..

That's a typo from bikerumor.
Roval even uses the same rim in both the clx and cl versions. Differences are in the spokes and hubs.

I have the same bike a good option to save weight on SL7 Comp especially if you wish to add a power meter is to change crankset to SRAM AXS Red with Quarq power meter

So show me where they state they are not hookless. I'm talking about this year's wheel model with dt Swiss 350 hubs.
@macwatt yes, I was thinking of changing the crank, at least 250gr weight saving.
