Hi anyone using Roval's tyre pressure recommendation if so are they a good guide?
I've found the Silca pressure calculator to be of use. 28mm GP5000 measure up to 29.5mm on the Rapides. For my system weight of around 78kg its telling me 74F 75R. Bike feels great at those pressures.

You just pop in your name and email address to access the professional version.

52 seems very low, even at your weight. With these wheels not officially being tubeless that would surely mean a real risk of snakebite/pinch flats with a tube.

52 is very low but damn, 65 kg system weight is crazy low, too. With bottles, spares, and normal clothing that's 17kg less than me (70kg) on a Specialized Aethos (6.6kg), and I ride just under 70psi.
Cervelo P5 Disc (2021) 9.1kg
Factor Ostro Gravel (2023) 8.0kg
S-Works SL8 (2023) 6.3kg

*weights are race ready, size 58/L.

So your total system weight is 82kg. If you are 70kg and the aethos 6.6kg you're putting 5.5kg to "the spares" (clothes, shoes, helmet, bottles). isn't that a lot? Even with bottles full I don't see how it can be more than 3kg. This is irrelevant I know but just wanted to comment.

@pmprego
Skin and bones: 70.4kg
Aethos with pedals, mount, and bottle cages (6.6kg)
Sum 77kg

- Spares and spares bag (multi tool, 2 CO2, adapter, chain link, 2 tubes (Aerothan), levers, AXS battery, coin battery): 520g
- Bottles (empty, 950ml Elite fly, 750ml titanium for carb drink): 160g
- liquid: 1700g (I know this isn't what you take on a short ride, but this is my race set up)
Wahoo Bolt V2: 70g
Tail light (compulsory in many races I have participated in) 55g
Sum: 2505g ~ 2.5kg

Shoes (S-Works Vent 45 + SP Cleats) 650g
Helmet (Giro Aether) 260g
Phone with case 200g
Bike wallet (compulsory in many cycling events) 90g
Food for longer events: 200 to 400g

Sum: 1.4 to 1.6kg

That's around 81kg, and I am still missing a Heart rate monitor, socks, kit, glasses, maybe a gillet or rain jacket.

Also, my weight here is my "dry weight", which may fluctuate more than a kg throughout a day or a week, and I would usually fuel in advance.

So 82kg isn't so extraordinary, although you might not need this much water, 2 tubes or this much food on every ride, but I believe a lot of people on this forum think their system is lighter than it really is.

Just back from maiden voyage Silca tyre pressures felt great for 28mm tyres 👍

Just saw this now. You got to your final weight indeed - fair game.

What grabbed my eyes was the AXS battery replacement --> that's what I call a man prepared for everything :)

What made me came here... kind of to ressuscitate the thread... No tubeless rumors from Roval? Either the rapide or the alpinist? No? Nothing? Damn...

Need some help. Found some ROVAL RAPID CL ( The wheels that only come on the SL7 and can't buy new ) and it has a Shimano freehub. I am interested in swapping it over to XDR ( AXS ) freehub. Does anyone know if Specialized sell this conversion for the DT350 or is a DT Swiss part? Part Numbers ?

Thanks

Pretty sure that's the DT Swiss SRAM XDr freehub kit.
Just need to find a retailer with that in stock where ever you are.

Any opinions on whether the Alpinist CLX is worth the cost over the CL version?

Only you can answer that.
Is a weight saving X worth Y amount of money to you?

What is the optimal tire width for the Alpinist CLX wheels?
