Lightest clincher (rim brake) 40-45mm?

Everything about building wheels, glueing tubs, etc.

Looking at tubeless clincher rims, 40-45mm, rim brake.
Which are among the lightest?

Currently looking at Tune which i find have a resonable price in Schwarzbrenner 45C.

Ordering a custom built set with well known rims and hubs it seems i don't get a full wheelset much cheaper (looking at welknown brands).

The new Cadex 42mm clinchers are 1265 grams but cost $3,000. Since they’re not even out yet, no one knows anything about them.

You can build RR46C02 with Cyberhubs and Ti spokes for half the price, about 1207g according to my calculation. Not sure if Ti spokes are what @wheelsONfire is looking for, though.

I have a set of 45mm deep tubeless clinchers weighing in at 1280g. Extralite hubs and they dont cost $3000.

Talk to a wheel builder. We find it easy. This one has a se sible spoke count too.

Ti spokes = spoke failures for many.

I built a set of 38mm toroidal clinchers for 300usd and they weigh 1219gr. Hubs use small bearings though, frequent bearing swaps = not ideal. They aren't tubeless. I was told non tubeless would be lighter. I'm ok with running latex. I'm light so I don't get as much heat descending. Tubeless tires are heavy anyway. Gp5k + latex is a light and very fast combo, just not as puncture proof.

EIE SL are the lightest "affordable" rims. I have a 60mm set using lowly Novatec 428sl hubs that come in at 1495g.

The same set with 40s is around 1230g.

Talking to a good wheelbuilder would be my recommendation too - try Thomas @ German-Lightness or the Cycle Clinic (while he's still in the EU!).

bike beat

they are quite affordable too
If you don't want dt or tunes hubs
You can have them build you wheels usings cx ray spokes, their rims and manual labor for 1100 €
And you send them your hubs

+ they have the best carbon surface braking in the dry and also most important they brake as hell even under the rain

This seems to be very close to Tune Schwarzbrenner 45c gen 2.
