Hi all, have there been any rumours or news about Shimano properly updating their clincher rim brake wheels with wider internal rims?

I've drooled over the wider clinchers for disk brakes but.. I have rim brakes.

Some updated C40s with 19mm+ internal would be sick!

I haven't heard anything. What's wrong with your Hed Ardennes? They are great wheels. Hed also has the Jet40 which gives you aero qualities plus 21mm internal width for a reasonable price.

Ah they just feel unreasonably heavy. When out of the saddle it feels like a lot of inertia has to be overcome. I'm still playing around with pressures though and don't know if this is a side effect of the smoother rider they offer and it only feels that way, when they could be accelerating the same way as 6800 Ultegra wheels for example.

I do intend to keep them, they just felt different to what I was expecting in terms of reactivity. Whereas Shimano wheels I rode (RS11 and 6800) felt very sprightly and laterally taught, even at their relatively high weights. (responsive)

You see weight has nowt to do with how a wheel feels.

Absolutely) The RS11 wheelset really converted me in that sense.
