Hi all! I'm planning on getting a light all-rounder/climbing set of wheels to complement my current pair of Scope R5D (55mm and rather porky at 1660g). I'm aiming at going sub-1300g so Feder 40-45mm with Carbon-Ti is what I'm looking for mostly. Is it safe/recommended to go with CX-Super spokes at 72Kg 1200W max sprint? Or should I stay with CX-Ray? These wheels will be mostly for when the road goes up, I won't be racing on them and I don't do descends à la Safa Brian. Cheers!

Is it unsafe? Unlikely. Is the durability reduced? Yes i think so. You could go for ray on the driveside and super on the non drive side.

It should be fine. They're not likely to be more brittle, but they will be tiny bit flexier. But I don't think that's an issue on 45s at your weight / sprint. If it was 25s they might feel a bit wobbly.

I received my DT240 28H rear gravel wheel, but the spokes doesn't touch each other I have not seen this before, can you tell me if this should have the spoke cross and touch each other? (not sure if it is possible or not due to hub design)

This is normal building for straight pull hubs. If the spokes touch each other, there will be noise from the rear wheel.
It's our experience from 3-4 years ago.

Little review on the Farsports Feder 40mm deep 26 mm wide with Far 230 hubs and cx ray spokes.

I have ridden them a bit now. They are surprisingly very stiff, although I am just 63 kg (basically no sprint but ftp 5-5.1W/kg). They are stable in winds, much more so than my Roval Rapide CL and also stiffer than those. They handle well, are very agile and of course lightweight with only 1200gr. The hubs work great until now, smooth and stiff. They are not as fast as my Rapides in the flats which was to be expected as the Rapide are much deeper (51+60mm).

Generally I am impressed. I though that they might be noodly to ride due to just 21 spokes but they feel great. (i know this is in no way a scientific review )

My wheels arrived today. Pretty quick process, ordered 4th Jan, shipped the 25th and arrived today. Just waiting for a new cassette but hoping to have them on for the weekend or early next week, will update once Iv taken them out. Happy with the weight at 1420g that's with 24/28 spokes on the 50/30 rim

I have the Feder 30/30 24F/28R DT240 It is 699 + 569 = 1268g dropped the bike about 800g from Alum 32H

Finally got the wheels fitted. My mechanic was impressed said they were very well built and the quality appeared good. The DT240s seem to spin well on the stand although the hub is very quiet. Now just need it to warm up up so I can take a test ride on them

35mm should look fine. If it's a disc brake I think the industry uses 24 spokes as minimum.
