I need to find Sapim CX spokes or similar to rebuild one of my wheelsets. They will need to be short too. Pillar make a spoke but only 1mm thick.

I need something thicker really like the CX spoke.
Lengths are around 220mm

The hubs are slotted DA7700 12h so a wide spoke is fine.

Looks like you can get CN494 down to 214mm https://www.ebay.com/itm/CSC-CN-mac-Aer ... :rk:1:pf:0

There are 10+ kinds of pillar bladed spokes and 5+ of bladed cnspoke mac aero.

CX-Sprint fit your criteria don't they? Cnspoke is usually the cheapest with pillar at a close 2nd.

It probably comes down to what is available to you. 1usd per cn424 or 0.5usd for a cn474/494 I think the prices are for me.

I've built several wheelsets with cn424s and I can't really fault them.

CX sprint is 2.2mm wide. The two spokes that would work are the Pillar 1432 but its not thick enough but is is 3.2mm wide. the DT Swiss new aero is perfect but availabity in the length I require is the problem. CN spokes are unknown to me and I am not likely to try them.

Curious, how is a 12 spoke front wheel when riding?

CN Mac 494s were too wide to fit into my hub. Look well made though.

I have Pillar PSRX-TRA 1425 in 240 with unthreaded 30mm shanks. Could you use a 224mm length with TG hex type locking nipples? (using this mipple usually adds 4mm over a standard type nipple)

12 spoke front wheel ride just fine. Its the rear that the problem. too much flex with CX rays. Stiffer spokes needed. I'll probably have to get the CN 494 spokes

May I ask where you source 474 and 494 spokes?

I've never bought the 474/494 (I'm light, and if heavy friends would like a wheelset we kind of lean towards adding spokes, not beefing them up. Going against the trend there if you ask shimano/campy.)

I've seen prices for them. They seem to be around half the price of a 424 if memory serves.

I get my stuff from taobao as I live in China but many taobao sellers are also on aliexpress. Just gotta compare prices and talk to the guys.
