It's important for everyone to remember that there can only be one opinion, and that opinion is bm0p700f's!
Remarkably, he got through that round-up of various hubs without mentioning his own ones. They are worth consideration.

opposite for me louis. the A291 SB has been problem free the F482SB and F482SB-SL have given short bearing life to almost everyone except the set I put into personal wheelset. That kind of sucess rate turned me off. I have had the hubs with the EZO bearings and the hubs with the NBK bearings. tere was no difference. I have tried SKF in them and on marginally better. The issue appear not to be the bearing but the manufacturing.

We seem to get opposite quality stuff as all my Miche cassettes have been total crap  .
Maybe because you build lots of Campagnolo wheels and all Shimano/Sram for me ??
Or my '' clients'' are all mostly below 75 kg ;) ....
I bought almost all of my hubs from Bdop Cycling.
Don't know if all Novatec hubsets use all the same parts or are manufactured at the same factory either...
The ones with anti bite guard freehub seem pretty rare.
I use NTN LLBC3 bearings now and get good results.

Louis :)

The internet tells me that dt swiss grease will make it good. I9 are loud also (is it a 56 thing?).

I will probably do something up on the bike when it is done. Everything in 18k carbon will make it unique... even if it is not a full out, price is no object weight weenie build.

Novatec F372SB rear hub. Approximately 5 years old.
I have been used these wheels in winter.
This is what happened last December...

1x:0x lacing for 5 years, that's insane.

These must be amazing hubs to withstand that.

Try 2x:0x or 2x:2x next time.

@alcatraz, that was original lacing I bought from aliexpress.
The only one issue I had was broken spoke 2 years ago.
Anyway, I bought new hub and my friend rebuild the wheel.
What he told me it was very hard to remove the nipples from the rim.
I think chinese boys did apply some kind of glue on the nipples.
The spoke tension was very high as well.

Thoughts on dt swiss 240s? That was to be my default. What would your choice hub be with weight in mind... or have you moved beyond that fantasy and moved to what works?
The problem with DT240 is the price. They’re good hubs but not at the price they ask. We pay almost $200 more a set for DT240 than WI T11 and the T11 is a better hub.

We build some Carbon Ti and they’re good for a light hub, but overall I’d pay the weight penalty for I9 or WI, and save money in the trade.
What exactly are you paying for DT vs. WI? In Europe WI are significantly more expensive than DT.

Maybe because WI is a US manufactuer vs DT is a Swiss manufactuer... import to EU cost a premium?
